Tyrod Taylor Will Back Up Rookie Quarterback in Week 16
New York Jets quarterback Tyrod Taylor (groin, knee) is expected to be active for Sunday's Week 16 contest against the New Orleans Saints, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. He had been listed as questionable but was trending in the right direction after logging a full practice. With Justin Fields (knee) not expected to suit up, Taylor will slot into the backup role behind Brady Cook. By playing Cook over Taylor, the eliminated Jets are exploring their future at quarterback. It's unlikely Cook is the long-term answer, but he could offer depth or perhaps even a bridge to another quarterback in 2026. In the short-term, he ranks as RotoBaller's QB29 for fantasy football in Week 16.
