Tyler Glasnow To See Specialist Tuesday
1 year agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Tyler Glasnow (back), who was scratched from his start on Sunday against the Detroit Tigers due to back spasms, is scheduled to visit with team specialist Dr. Tom Tollin on Tuesday. The Rays don't expect Glasnow to be sidelined for long, and it's possible that he could return to pitch this week if he checks out fine on Tuesday. "I personally don't think, as we speak right now, it's that big of a deal," manager Kevin Cash said of Glasnow on Sunday. The 29-year-old should be considered day-to-day for now, and hopefully he won't need to go on the injured list, especially with lefty ace Shane McClanahan (forearm) already on the IL. Glasnow has been strong this year with a 5-3 record, 3.15 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 96 strikeouts in 68 2/3 innings over his 12 starts for Tampa.
