The Edmonton Oilers have acquired defenseman Troy Stecher and a seventh-round pick from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a fourth-round pick. The Oilers acquired centers Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick from the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday and were rumored to be in the market for a cheap depth defenseman and Stecher fits that bill. The 29-year-old has appeared in 47 games for the Coyotes this season and has recorded one goal and five points along with 52 hits and 67 shots on goal in that time. The well-traveled veteran has skated in 487 career regular-season games between the Canucks, Red Wings, Kings, Flames, and Coyotes (twice).--Brenton Kemp
