Trey Palmer 2024 Outlook: Ready to Build off Solid Rookie Campaign
6 months agoTampa Bucs WR Trey Palmer fell to the 6th Round (No. 193 overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft, but Bucs GM Jason Licht was happy to trade up for him. "Trey did some outstanding things for us. He's obviously very fast. He's learned multiple positions for us – that's always tough on a rookie – but he put a lot of effort into it," Licht was quoted as saying this offseason. Palmer finished up his rookie campaign with 39 receptions for 385 yards and 3 TDs including 3 receptions for 88 yards and 1 TD in the Bucs' two playoff games. Palmer spent 56% of his time in the slot and 44% out wide according to PFF. The team drafted WR Jalen McMillan from Washington in Round 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft and has WR Rakim Jarrett and newly-signed WR Sterling Shepard on the WR depth chart as well. Palmer doesn't have immediate fantasy value as he's projected well behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin for targets, but could become viable should either of them miss any time in 2024.
