Trey Mancini Will Participate In Home Run Derby
Trey Mancini, who missed all of last season after being diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer, has accepted an invitation to participate in the Home Run Derby, according to sources. The 29-year-old has been among the best in baseball in exit velocity in 2021 and is slashing .256/.332/.460 with 14 home runs and 52 RBI for Baltimore. Mancini has cooled off in June, hitting .209/.287/.341 with three home runs and 10 RBI in 23 games in the month of June after slashing .320/.405/.588 in March, but he's still tied for sixth in the majors with his 52 RBI. His comeback story has been one of the best in baseball this year, and it's even better to see him added to the Home Run Derby field for this year's All-Star festivities.
