Tony Gonsolin Could Need Surgery
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers right-hander Tony Gonsolin (forearm) had an MRI exam and could need surgery. A final decision has yet to be made, though, but it could impact his availability for the start of next season, according to manager Dave Roberts. The 29-year-old is not expected back again this year after he was place don the injured list on Aug. 19, especially if he has to go under the knife. He made the All-Star team for the first time in his career in 2022, when he went 16-1 with an excellent 2.14 ERA and 0.87 WHIP in 24 starts. However, he has posted a career-worst 4.98 ERA (5.44 FIP), 1.22 WHIP, 40 walks and 82 strikeouts in 103 innings over his 20 starts this season. Fantasy managers in single-year leagues should have already dumped Gonsolin.
