Tim Anderson Back In Leadoff Spot
1 year agoChicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (neck) is back at shortstop and is hitting in his customary leadoff spot as the team takes on the Chicago Cubs and right-hander Javier Assad on Wednesday. Anderson was scratched from Tuesday's lineup as a precaution due to neck stiffness, but he's back in there a day later. With the 30-year-old's appeal for a six-game suspension being heard on Thursday, this could be the last day before he's forced to sit out during a weekend series against the Colorado Rockies on the road. The two-time All-Star's struggles this year have been well-documented, but Anderson has looked much better since the All-Star break, going 27-for-93 (.290) with his first home run of the year, three doubles, eight RBI, two stolen bases and nine runs scored in 24 starts.
