4 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers placed wide receiver Tavon Austin (knee) on Injured Reserve on Thursday and activated receiver Richie James Jr. from the active Non-Football Injury list in a corresponding move. In other injury news, general manager John Lynch said that cornerback Jason Verrett injured his hamstring in practice on Wednesday. Center Weston Richburg (knee) will begin the year on the Physically Unable to Perform list, which will keep him out for at least the first six weeks of the season. Austin signed in August due to injuries to Deebo Samuel (foot) and Jalen Hurd (knee), but he'll now miss the entire season. James will be depth behind Samuel, Kendrick Bourne, rookie Brandon Aiyuk, Dante Pettis and Trent Taylor.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
