Tarik Cohen 2021 Outlook: Looking for a Bounce Back Season
4 years agoChicago Bears running back Tarik Cohen is hoping to return to full strength this season for the charter franchise. Cohen (torn ACL) missed the final 13 games last season and the injury occurred weeks after signing a three-year $17.25 million-dollar extension with the team. When healthy, Cohen can be an x-factor out of the backfield and also in the passing game. The 25-year-old's best season came in 2018 when he rushed for 444 yards, caught 71 balls for 725 yards, and scored eight total touchdowns. Cohen's role was expanded the following season to diminishing results, racking up only 669 all-purpose yards with three touchdowns despite a career-high 79 receptions. The dynamic runner is expected to return to the fold, but the size of his role in the offense is unknown. Teammate David Montgomery is the unquestioned lead runner out of the backfield and the Bears added 2019 Super Bowl hero, Damien Williams, to the group as well. In seasons past, Cohen was a promising FLEX option with a high-end upside. But fantasy teams need to take a more cautious approach with his value heading into this season. Cohen will need to prove he is 100% healthy and productive in order to get back to being the type of player that needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats for the 2021 season.
