New York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz left his start against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night with what is being reported as an apparent finger issue. Matz was off to a strong start in this one, allowing just a single hit in three innings before his forced departure. He walked two and struck out a pair prior to leaving. Reliever Paul Sewald came into the game for Matz, and promptly allowed two runs to let Atlanta back into the game.--John Smith
