Spencer Strider Included On NLDS Roster
2 years agoAtlanta Braves rookie starting pitcher Spencer Strider (oblique) is on the team's roster for the National League Division Series this week against the Philadelphia Phillies. Strider landed on the injured list in mid-September with an oblique strain, and it was uncertain if he'd be ready for the Division Series. The 23-year-old right-hander will be on the roster, but it remains to be seen if he'll be used as a starter or reliever due to his recent injury. He was excellent for the Braves in his first full MLB season in 2022, going 11-5 with a 2.67 ERA (1.83 FIP), a 0.99 WHIP, 202 strikeouts and 45 walks in 131 2/3 innings over 31 outings (20 starts). Strider went 4-0 against the Phillies this year while giving up three runs on seven hits over 21 1/3 innings in four appearances (three starts).
