Spencer Knight Opens Up On Absence
1 year agoFlorida Panthers goaltender Spencer Knight (personal) has revealed why he entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program in March. The talented netminder told Ken Campbell of The Hockey News that he started to struggle with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Knight, who boasts a very strong 32-17-6 career record in the NHL, has been working with an OCD expert and is confident that he can still have a very good career on the top level. "I can still be the player I want to be, and I still believe I can be one of the best goalies in this league," Knight said. "Maybe it's this year, maybe it's next year, maybe it's in three years or four years or five years. I don't know. I know what I'm capable of accomplishing. It was there before and it has been there the whole time." Knight is expected to be back with the Panthers for the 2023-24 campaign.
