Shohei Ohtani Goes Deep In Win Over Astros
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter Shohei Ohtani homered in the team's 4-2 win over the Houston Astros on Sunday to avoid the sweep. The long ball left his bat at 107.1 mph and traveled 440 feet to give the team a 3-2 lead at the time in the eighth inning. It was his seventh home run of the season, and he's already tied his home run total from last year in 77 at-bats in 2021. It was also the second home run that he's hit that traveled at least 440 feet this year, which is second-most in baseball behind only teammate Mike Trout (three). The 26-year-old two-way star has now homered in three straight games and is hitting .286 with a .983 OPS after going 1-for-5 with two strikeouts on Sunday. Ohtani continues to hit the ball hard as a DH for fantasy managers in all leagues.
