Shane Bieber Plays Catch Monday
3 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Shane Bieber (shoulder) played some catch on Monday for the first time he was injured on June 13 with a strained right shoulder. Bieber is making slow progress, but his fantasy managers should at least be happy that he has resumed throwing. The two-time All-Star and the American League Cy Young winner in 2019 needs to remain stashed in an injured list spot in all formats, even if he's only able to make a handful of starts in the second half of the season. Bieber was 7-4 with a 3.28 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 130 strikeouts to 33 walks in 90 2/3 innings over 14 starts before his shoulder injury in June. The 26-year-old ace could begin live batting practice sessions or bullpens soon.
