Calgary Flames center Sean Monahan is set to undergo hip surgery and is ruled out for the season, the team announced on Saturday. The talented forward has had an awful year with just 23 points in 65 games and even ended up being a healthy scratch for a couple of nights last week. Monahan already had left hip surgery last year and it's the other hip that needs attention this time around. Either way, it's unfortunate news. Monahan has produced 212 goals and 462 points in 656 career games. The Flames have placed him on Long-Term Injured Reserve.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
