Sam Darnold To Start Against Lions
2 years agoCarolina Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks on Monday confirmed that quarterback Sam Darnold will make another start in Week 16 against the Detroit Lions on Saturday for his fourth start of the year. In the Week 15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Darnold went 14-for-23 for a season-high 225 yards and a touchdown. The former first-round pick hasn't been outstanding in his three starts with the Panthers relying mostly on their ground game, but he also hasn't turned the ball over at all. Carolina isn't asking the 25-year-old to be much more than a game manager down the stretch, and although the matchup against Detroit in Week 16 is a good one, fantasy managers should still consider Darnold more of a low-upside, low-end QB2 option.
