2 years agoColorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon is starting at second base and batting fifth in the Cactus League game on Friday against the San Francisco Giants, with Elehuris Montero at the hot corner. This could be the plan if Brendan Rodgers (shoulder) is forced to have season-ending surgery after dislocating his shoulder in a game earlier this week. Alan Trejo could also be an option at the keystone, but he will soon join Team Mexico for the World Baseball Classic. Nolan Jones could be an option at third base if McMahon becomes the team's primary second baseman. Harold Castro is another option for the keystone, so the Rockies clearly have options if Rodgers is lost for the entire 2023 campaign.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
