Ross Stripling Roughed Up By Angels
Ross Stripling had his second rough game in as many tries. The right-hander allowed four runs on six hits and a walk over five innings of work on Thursday night. Stripling struck out five batters and threw 46 of his 70 pitches (66%) for strikes so his control was fine but the former Dodgers hurler struggled with his command. Five of the six hits against him were extra-base knocks. In his previous start, Stripling allowed three runs in 3.1 innings on seven hits and two walks. He's currently in the starting rotation filling the spot earmarked for injured rookie hurler Nate Pearson (groin). Pearson has begun throwing off the mound but is not expected back until he builds up his stamina.
