The Houston Rockets have selected Ohio State guard Bruce Thornton with the 31st pick of the NBA Draft. Houston acquired this pick and No. 55 in a deal with the New York Knicks. The move to draft Thornton seems like a smart one, given their needs at the perimeter. Thornton spent all four seasons of his college ball playing at Ohio State. He averaged 19.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists during his senior campaign this year. He should get a chance to immediately contribute, with Fred VanVleet (knee) still recovering from ACL surgery and Aaron Holiday heading to free agency. Thornton could see minutes right away in the backend of the rotation, but probably won't be a viable fantasy option to begin the season.--Andy Webb
