Robert Covington And Terance Mann Battle For Spot Among Starters
1 year agoAccording to Law Murray of The Athletic, Los Angeles Clippers forward Robert Covington and guard/forward Terance Mann are in the midst of a battle for a spot in the starting lineup. Marcus Morris Sr. (groin) has started in all 119 regular-season games he's played with the Clippers over the last two campaigns, but the franchise is now ready to move on from him. Covington himself looked like the odd man out late last season when he was completely dropped from the rotation, but he's a good defender and could add balance to a lineup full of scoring talent. Mann's presence would allow the Clippers to push the pace a lot more with a smaller lineup, and the 26-year-old hasn't previously disappointed as a starter, posting 11.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists last season in a starting role.
