Stanford Cardinal first baseman Rintaro Sasaki finished up his freshman year with a .269 batting average and a .790 OPS, along with seven home runs, 41 RBI, and a 10.6 percent walk rate in 52 games. The 20-year-old is now expected to play for the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod League over the summer. The power hitter from Japan set the Japanese high school record for home runs with 140 during his career and was expected to be the top pick in the NPB Draft before deciding to attend and play ball at Stanford instead. He had successful stints in the MLB Draft League and the Appalachian League last year before heading to Stanford. He'll become draft eligible in 2026, and with his prodigious power, fantasy managers should make sure they know the name.--Jarod RuppRead More News
