ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that the Texas Rangers traded Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson today to the New York Yankees in exchange for future consideration. It might surprise some that Wilson actually played nearly 100 games in the Colorado Rockies system after being drafted in the 4th round of the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft. Wilson came to the Rangers in the 2013 Rule 5 Draft, but his "role" with the team was to show up for spring training and have everyone enjoy his presence. Despite posturing that he'd love to return to baseball, this is a PR move masquerading as an MLB transaction. Wilson will be "assigned" to Double A, because they have to put him somewhere. Unless you play in a league that rewards points in other sports, have yourself a chuckle and forget about this until spring training when every outlet will report on his being there 100 times a day.--Sean ScamptonRead More News
