Ryan Weathers Throws Live Batting Practice on Monday
Ryan Weathers (lat) was scheduled to throw live batting practice on Wednesday, according to MLB.com's Christina De Nicola. It will be the first time that Weathers has faced live hitters since landing on the injured list in early June with a lat strain. If the 25-year-old southpaw gets through Monday's session without suffering a setback, it's possible that he'll be cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment later this week. The Marlins are not going to rush him back, but Weathers is expected to return to the team's starting rotation in the final month of the season in September. Due to injuries, he's managed to make only five starts in 2025, but he's pitched well, sporting a 3.28 ERA (4.45 FIP) and 1.05 WHIP with 23 strikeouts and eight walks in 24 2/3 innings thrown. Obviously, Weathers doesn't have much left to offer in fantasy this year.
