Quarterback E.J. Perry To Sign With Jaguars
2 years agoAfter initially expected to sign with Philadelphia, former Brown quarterback E.J. Perry will be signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The undrafted 24-year-old received an offer from the Eagles, but the team was waiting to hear back from Nevada alum Carson Strong, who they ultimately agreed to terms with. Strong was expected to be drafted, but medical staffs had pushed back due to his knee issues, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. It makes sense that Philadelphia would opt for Strong and not carry multiple undrafted free-agent quarterbacks on the roster. Perry finished 2021 with 3,034 passing yards, 23 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, adding 402 yards and an additional seven scores on the ground. He was named the Ivy League's offensive player of the year. He now joins a Jaguars quarterback room with C.J. Beathard and Jake Luton competing to back up starter Trevor Lawrence.
