Pirates Bring Up Miguel Andujar
2 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates selected the contract of outfielder Miguel Andujar from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday and optioned infielder Drew Maggi to Double-A Altoona in a corresponding move. To make room on the 40-man roster, right-hander Wil Crowe (shoulder) was moved to the 60-day injured list. Maggi was also named the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Washington Nationals. Andujar is in right field and batting sixth in Game 1 of the twin bill against Nationals left-hander Patrick Corbin. The 28-year-old was hitting well in the minors, but the former Yankee is unlikely to see much playing time in Pittsburgh for however long he's up. In 36 games with the Yanks and Bucs in 2022, he hit .235 with a homer, 17 RBI and four stolen bases.
