Patrick Mahomes, Marquez Valdes-Scantling Building Connection
3 years agoA strong connection has been growing between Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and new wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling during organized team activities this spring. Valdes-Scantling is expected to help fulfill a deep-threat role to help replace Tyreek Hill, who is now in Miami. The 27-year-old is the lone ball-carrier in the NFL that has been clocked faster than Hill on a snap in the last two seasons. MVS has also displayed good chemistry with Mahomes on intermediate routes in voluntary practices. He had 26 catches for 430 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games for the Packers in 2021, but he has averaged a league-high 18.5 yards per catch in the last three years. If Valdes-Scantling is used all over the field with the Chiefs, he could easily have a breakout season.
