Patrick Kane Recovering Well From Hip Surgery
1 year agoNine-time All-Star Patrick Kane is working his way back from having hip resurfacing surgery on June 1, and he's very happy with his progress. "It's just exciting to see progression and just feeling better on the ice," Kane told The Associated Press on Thursday. "Kind of getting back to my old self, so it's pretty exciting." Kane was expected to be out for four-to-six months following the surgery, and he isn't rushing his return in order to get fully healthy. "I think we're at the point now where, I mean, could I come back early? Yeah, probably," Kane added. "But does it make sense? You know, it might be better to take the full time and just make sure I'm at 105-110% instead of just 90-95. But it's a lot better than I was last year." The veteran star had a down year in 2022-23 and remains an unrestricted free agent, but he expects to continue his NHL career and is open to offers.
