Tahj Brooks Handles the Bulk of the Carries on Thursday
Tahj Brooks ran for 26 yards off 10 attempts in Thursday's preseason loss to the Eagles. He added one catch (two targets) for three yards. Chase Brown began the contest with the rest of the starters. While Brooks handled the bulk of the touches, he only averaged 2.6 yards per carry. Despite the subpar showing on Thursday night, the 2025 No. 193 overall pick has looked good throughout training camp and appears to have earned the trust of the coaching staff. However, with Brown expected to get the majority of the snaps out of the backfield in 2025, there could be little room for Brooks to remain consistently involved, even if the rookie manages to secure the No. 2 spot on the depth chart over Samaje Perine. With the Bengals dropping their first game of the preseason, the team will look to get on track versus the Commanders on August 18.Source: ESPN
Cincinnati Bengals running back Keaton Mitchell Finds the End Zone Against Colts
Keaton Mitchell posted the most efficient game out of the backfield in the 24-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts. The third-year back finished with nine carries for 68 yards (7.6 yards per carry) and one touchdown. During his 22-yard score in the first quarter, Mitchell showed great patience and bursts of speed to hit every part of the open field that his blockers gave him. As of right now, the competition is for the third running back spot, so Mitchell has to separate himself from Rasheen Ali and D'Ernest Johnson. While Ali scored as well, Mitchell seems to be in the driver's seat so far.Source: ESPN
Baltimore Ravens running back Noah Gray Looks Like "High-End" Starting TE in Camp
Noah Gray has looked very strong in training camp and is receiving strong buzz from reports. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated noted that the tight end looks like a "high-end" starter. Throughout his four-year career in Kansas City, Gray has typically taken the backseat to future Hall of Famer Travis Kelce. However, after catching just 28 passes in both 2022 and 2023, Gray was able to enjoy a mini-breakout season in 2024. Last fall, Gray caught a career-best 40 passes for 437 yards and five touchdowns. He enjoyed productive stretch from Weeks 10 through 15 when he averaged a solid 10.2 PPR points per game. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his progression early in the season as he could continue to carve out a role behind Kelce. However, for now, Kelce remains the clear TE1 in Kansas City. Gray is best viewed as a high-upside TE3 in deeper formats.Source: Albert Breer

LaJohntay Wester Electric In Preseason Debut
LaJohntay Wester put together a fantastic debut in the team's first preseason game after being drafted in the sixth round out of Colorado. The speedster scored his first touchdown near the end of the first quarter when he returned a punt to the house for 87 yards. He flashed his elusiveness after making the first four tacklers miss, and turned on the burners. Overall, he finished with 104 return yards on three attempts and two receptions for 41 yards on three targets. If Wester continues this level of play, he could find his way into the fourth receiver spot over Devontez Walker and Tylan Wallace.Source: ESPN
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Ashton Dulin Leads Colts in Receiving in Preseason Opener
Ashton Dulin caught three of his seven targets for 54 yards in a 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in preseason action on Thursday. Dulin started alongside Adonai Mitchell and led the Colts in targets and receiving yards in the contest. The veteran wideout did most of his damage on a 25-yard grab from Daniel Jones in the second quarter, helping set the Colts up for a 39-yard field goal. From a fantasy perspective, Dulin is more valuable to the Colts for his skills on special teams and is unlikely to overtake any of Michael Pittman Jr, Josh Downs, or Adonai Mitchell in the wide-receiver room this season. The Colts will play their second preseason game against the Green Bay Packers next Saturday.Source: NFL.com
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Tyler Warren Catches Three Passes in Preseason Debut
Tyler Warren caught all three of his targets for 40 yards in a 24-16 preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. Warren got off to a hot start in the game, catching all three of his passes in the first quarter, including a 23-yard reception down the middle of the field to help set the Colts up for a 33-yard field goal at the end of the quarter. He came as advertised after the Colts used the 14th overall pick on Warren in the 2025 NFL draft, hauling in all three of his targets and showing physicality as a runner after the catch. While the Colts' quarterback situation is a bit concerning, Warren should settle in as a solid TE2 in fantasy in his rookie year. He will now gear up to face off against the Green Bay Packers in his team's second preseason contest, which is scheduled for next Saturday.Source: NFL.com
Indianapolis Colts tight end Adonai Mitchell Goes for 37 Yards in Preseason Opener
Adonai Mitchell caught two of his six targets for 37 yards in a 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in the first week of preseason action. Mitchell finished tied for second on the team in targets and third in receiving yards while playing throughout the first half of the game. The second-year receiver showed flashes at times in 2024 and has drawn positive buzz from Colts brass during training camp this year. Mitchell should open the year as the outside receiver across from Michael Pittman Jr., with Josh Downs in the slot, but his fantasy production could be spotty in what is not expected to be an explosive Indianapolis passing offense. The Colts' second preseason game comes next Saturday against the Green Bay Packers.Source: NFL.com
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver DJ Giddens Runs for 17 Yards in Pro Debut
DJ Giddens carried the ball six times for 17 yards and failed to corral his lone target in a 24-16 preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. Giddens and Tyler Goodson split the work throughout the first half of the game before ultimately giving way to Khalil Herbert at the beginning of the third quarter. Giddens finished with a long run of seven yards while averaging 2.8 yards per carry in the contest. The fifth-round rookie out of Kansas State is fighting to open the regular season as the primary backup behind Jonathan Taylor. His next chance to make an impression will come in the Colts' second preseason game, which will be next Saturday against the Green Bay Packers.Source: NFL.com
Indianapolis Colts running back Daniel Jones Throws for 144 Yards in Preseason Game Vs. Ravens
Daniel Jones completed 10 of his 21 passes for 144 yards in a 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in his team's first preseason game of the year. Jones was pressed into action earlier than expected after Anthony Richardson Sr. was forced from the game with a dislocated pinky following the Colts' second possession of the contest. The Colts managed two field-goal scoring drives but no touchdowns while Jones was under center. Jones ran the offense up until halftime, giving way to rookie Riley Leonard to begin the third quarter. Richardson is being called day-to-day by the Colts, setting the stage for the camp battle between him and Jones to continue into the team's second preseason game, which will come against the Green Bay Packers next Saturday.Source: NFL.com
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacardia Wright has Strong Preseason Opener
Jacardia Wright found the end zone in his first preseason game and finished with seven carries for 34 yards, while working in the second half with fellow rookie Jalen Milroe at quarterback. Additionally, Wright had a 45-yard run called back to a Brady Russell holding penalty. Wright is an undrafted rookie out of Missouri State and is trying to play his way onto the roster. However, Seattle is stacked at running back with Kenneth Walker, Zach Charbonnet, George Holani, and Damien Martinez all expected to be ahead of Wright on the depth chart. Wright showed enough sizzle to get some attention, though, and he could be an interesting option for Seattle or another team to stash on their practice squad as a depth option.Source: ESPN.com
Seattle Seahawks running back Damien Martinez Quiet in Preseason Debut
Damien Martinez made his preseason debut on Thursday against the Raiders, but he worked well behind George Holani, who seems to have the early lead in the competition for the third running back spot in Seattle. Martinez ran for just 10 yards on his six carries and caught both his targets for 15 more yards. He added 25 yards on two kickoff returns as well. The seventh-round pick out of Miami has stepped up in pass coverage and as a receiver, which was a question mark for him coming into the draft. However, Holani seems to be firmly ahead of him on the depth chart. Martinez will look to make more of an impact and earn a roster spot in the next two weeks as the Seahawks face the Chiefs and Packers in their other two preseason contests.Source: ESPN.com
Seattle Seahawks running back George Holani Totals 81 Yards in Seahawks Tie
George Holani finished Thursday's preseason opener with a team-high 61 rushing yards on seven carries and added 20 more yards on a catch out of the backfield. He had a 24-yard rushing touchdown for the Seahawks' first score of the night, and his longest play of the game. Holani was an undrafted free agent whom Seattle added before last season out of Boise State. Holani lost the battle for a roster spot to Kenny McIntosh last season, but he looked ready to claim a spot on this year's squad with a strong opener. Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet will carry the load in the backfield, but Holani played ahead of rookie Damien Martinez and could earn his way into the running back rotation if injury strikes in Seattle.Source: ESPN
