Breece Hall Held in Check, Shares Field on Opening Drive
Breece Hall rushed three times for nine yards in Saturday's 30-10 win against the hosting Green Bay Packers. He had a long run of four. The good news is that Jets running backs handled six touches on the team's opening drive. Unfortunately, running mate Braelon Allen outrushed him on one carry during that series (14 yards), and Isaiah Davis (ankle) rotated in for a play. Even fullback Andrew Beck was targeted twice (2/36). Much has been made this offseason about a possible RBBC in New York, and if their first drive of the preseason is any indication, it could be a long year for Hall owners. The Iowa State product is plenty talented. However, Allen could be a significant threat to the former's workload. Furthermore, a rushing quarterback in Justin Fields is sure to siphon carries and touchdowns from both of them, as evidenced today. Hall should get some more run next Saturday when the Jets square off with the New York Giants.
