Former title challenger Steve Erceg got back in the win column by defeating Ode' Osbourne via unanimous decision in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 109. The 30-year-old Erceg was almost finished in the first round, and he had to dig deep, surviving a massive punch in the first round that hurt him badly. Erceg adjusted, came back, and got the better of Osbourne in the second and the third rounds. In 15 minutes of action, Erceg landed three takedowns and 20 significant strikes. UFC veteran Angela Hill suffered a unanimous decision loss to Iasmin Lucindo on the main card of UFC Vegas 109. Hill was dominated, controlled, outstruck and taken down time and time again for the majority of the fight. The first round was competitive, but Lucindo got the better of Hill in the second and the third round. In 15 minutes of action, Hill landed 64 significant strikes, compared to Lucindo, who landed 72. On Saturday, Christian Rodriguez suffered a split-decision loss to UFC veteran Andre Fili on the main card of UFC Vegas 109. Rodriguez appeared to steal the opening round with a late takedown. The second round was extremely close, and Fili got the better of Rodriguez in the third round. After three rounds of back-and-forth action, the judges scored the fight 29-28, 28-29, 30-27 in favor of Fili. In 15 minutes of action, Rodriguez landed a takedown and 83 significant strikes. The fight was an extremely close, back-and-forth fight, and it seems that most experts and fans think Johns should have been the victor, but the judges scored the fight in favor of Matsumoto. In 15 minutes of action, Johns was outstruck by Matsumoto by 20 strikes, but scored five takedowns across three rounds and landed 83 significant strikes.
