Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) has been listed as questionable for Friday's matchup with the Denver Nuggets. The former Celtic was assigned to the Blazers' G League affiliate for rehab purposes, and now has a chance to make his season debut. Since joining the Blazers in 2023-24, Williams has appeared in a total of 26 games (three starts). The injury bug has hit him hard over the years, as shown by the fact that he's only registered two seasons with more than 35 games played. With that being said, he does deliver solid rebounding (6.8 per game) and blocks (1.7). It's unclear how he'll slot into the rotation right now, but it's likely that Duop Reath and Yang Hansen would be the two to see fewer minutes.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller

Philadelphia 76ers guard Jared McCain (thumb) has officially been ruled out again for Friday's NBA Cup game against the Boston Celtics. The second-year guard has yet to make his season debut after having surgery on his right thumb, but he has returned to practice and is trending in the right direction. Head coach Nick Nurse hasn't given a specific date for his return. While he's out, Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, and Quentin Grimes will continue to see heavy minutes while Justin Edwards and Eric Gordon get some minutes in relief. Unfortunately, Edwards and Gordon aren't playing enough to be streaming options while the main three are likely rostered in most, if not all, leagues.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller

Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George (knee) still is not ready to make his season debut as he was officially ruled out for the team's first NBA Cup game against the Boston Celtics on Friday. He has been able to fully participate in practices over the course of the week, but there still seems to be a ramp-up process that hasn't been completed. In his place, head coach Nick Nurse has gone with a rotation in the two forward spots with Kelly Oubre Jr., Jabari Walker, and Trendon Watford. That will likely continue since Dominick Barlow (elbow) is also sidelined. Oubre would be waiver priority number one if he happens to be available, while Barlow and Walker haven't contributed enough just yet to warrant streaming in standard-size leagues.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller

New Orleans Pelicans center Kevon Looney (knee) is considered doubtful for Friday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. The three-time NBA champion injured his left knee during the preseason and hasn't yet played in the regular season. Once he returns, Looney is expected to serve as a backup to starting center Yves Missi, which means he likely won't have an impact in fantasy basketball. He also faces competition for playing time from DeAndre Jordan, who recently signed a one-year deal with New Orleans.--Taavi Pailk

Los Angeles Lakers guard Marcus Smart (quadriceps) is on the injury report with a questionable tag ahead of Friday's showdown against the Memphis Grizzlies. Smart has missed a couple of contests with a quadriceps injury and might also have to skip a meeting with his former team. Before his injury, Smart posted 7.7 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steals in 24.7 minutes per game. Players like Jake LaRavia and Dalton Knecht have enjoyed larger roles in the rotation as the Lakers have battled an early-season injury bug.--Taavi Pailk

Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Shaedon Sharpe (calf) has been listed as probable on the injury report for Friday's contest against the Denver Nuggets. The 22-year-old is bothered by a sore left calf, but the probable designation suggests that Sharpe will be fine for Friday's action. In five games this season, Sharpe has averaged 17.0 points, although his shooting percentages have been horrible. He has nailed only 23.7 percent of his shots from deep and is shooting 32.6 percent overall. Denver has had a top-five defense early in the season, which could make scoring challenging again for Sharpe on Friday.--Taavi Pailk

New York Knicks forward/center Guerschon Yabusele (knee) is likely to rejoin the action on Friday night, as the team has listed him as probable for a meeting with the Chicago Bulls. Due to a left knee sprain, Yabusele was unable to play in Tuesday's affair against the Milwaukee Bucks. Compared to his time in Philadelphia last year, Yabusele's fantasy value has significantly dropped, as he's averaged only 1.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in 13.7 minutes. On Friday, the Knicks could have Mitchell Robinson (ankle) in the lineup for the first time this season, which might be a new blow for Yabusele and his fantasy stock.--Taavi Pailk

New York Knicks guard Miles McBride (personal) is expected to return to the lineup on Friday against the Chicago Bulls. The team has removed McBride from the injury report after he missed two games for personal reasons. Prior to his absence, McBride played a significant role in the Knicks' rotation, averaging 12.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists over 29.0 minutes per game. With McBride's return, both Jordan Clarkson and Landry Shamet will see a decrease in their fantasy value, although neither player was particularly productive during his absence.--Taavi Pailk

Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks (core muscle) will sit out a third consecutive game on Friday against the Utah Jazz. He's nursing a core muscle strain. Brooks' injury has opened the door to the starting lineup for Royce O'Neale, who's grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Over the past two games, O'Neale has averaged 17.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.5 steals. Nigel Hayes-Davis and Isaiah Livers have also seen more action, but they haven't been productive enough to be considered viable fantasy options.--Taavi Pailk

Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green (hamstring) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Utah Jazz. Earlier this week, Green picked up a questionable designation on the injury report, signaling that he might be close to making his season debut. However, it seems that the former Rocket still requires more time to recover from a right hamstring strain. Until Green's return, Grayson Allen will continue to have an expanded role in the rotation. The veteran sniper has averaged 16.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 5.2 assists early in the season.--Taavi Pailk

Los Angeles Clippers guard Bradley Beal (back) is not on the injury report for Friday's contest against the New Orleans Pelicans. After missing a pair of games with a back issue, Beal is ready to return to the lineup and will likely reclaim his starting spot from Bogdan Bogdanovic. Before Beal's injury, Bogdanovic was not part of the rotation, so it is possible that he will not play at all on Friday night. Beal has been very quiet in his first outings as a Clipper, averaging only 5.5 points in 20.0 minutes.--Taavi Pailk

Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Sam Merrill (hip) is not ready to return to the lineup on Friday against the Toronto Raptors, missing a second consecutive contest. The talented shooter, who has averaged 17.3 points early this season, is struggling to overcome a right hip contusion. Darius Garland (toe) will also remain out against Toronto, while Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) and Jarrett Allen (finger) are considered questionable. This means the Cavaliers offense may hinge on Evan Mobley, De'Andre Hunter, and Lonzo Ball on Friday night.--Taavi Pailk

Toronto Raptors center Jakob Poeltl (back) will sit out a second consecutive game on Friday versus the Cleveland Cavaliers. He hasn't traveled to the road game due to lower back tightness. With Poeltl out, rookie Collin Murray-Boyles received the starting nod on Wednesday against the Houston Rockets. He finished a 139-121 loss with 13 points, one rebound, and two assists. Sandro Mamukelashvili and Jonathan Mogbo shared the backup minutes at center. The three players will see increased usage until Poeltl returns, but they haven't provided much value for fantasy managers.--Taavi Pailk

Denver Nuggets forward Cameron Johnson (shoulder) is on the injury report with a probable designation ahead of Friday's matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. Earlier this week, Johnson hurt his right shoulder in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite this, he played in a game on Wednesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans, and it appears that the injury will not prevent him from participating in Friday's contest either. Johnson hasn't been very productive through his first few games as a Nugget, recording 8.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. On Friday, he may have a larger role offensively if Jamal Murray (calf), who is listed as questionable on the injury report, exits the lineup.--Taavi Pailk

Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray (calf) is listed as questionable for Friday's encounter with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Canadian star is experiencing tightness in his left calf, and it might sideline Murray for the first time this season. Murray has had a good start to the campaign, averaging 27.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.3 steals. If Murray needs to take some time off to recover, Bruce Brown might get a starting role in Denver. This would automatically boost Brown's fantasy value, even though he hasn't done much so far this season, posting 5.5 points per game with 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists.--Taavi Pailk
