The Seattle Seahawks are open to trading quarterback Sam Howell and have received inquiries from teams interested in landing the backup signal-caller, according to sources. The interest comes after Seattle reunited with former backup Drew Lock last week. Sam Darnold is the starter, but the Seahawks also have Jaren Hall as their No. 4 QB. General manager John Schneider said last week that the team is prepared to have Howell and Lock compete for the backup job behind Darnold this summer. Seattle acquired Howell in a trade last March with the Washington Commanders, giving up third- and fifth-round picks in exchange for fourth- and sixth-round picks. The 24-year-old didn't look great at all in relief of Geno Smith in December after he started all 17 games for the Commanders in 2023, throwing 21 touchdowns and a league-high 21 interceptions.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler and Brady Henderson

East Carolina cornerback Shavon Revel (knee) tore his left ACL in September and isn't expected to be back until around the start of training camp at the end of July, which will be more of a problem for some teams than others, according to SI.com's Albert Breer. Revel is highly regarded and likely would have been a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft if he hadn't torn his ACL. Barring any setbacks, the 23-year-old could have a shot at being ready to make his NFL debut in Week 1, but he still will have missed valuable development time this offseason. Despite his injury, the young defensive back is considered one of the best prospects at his position behind Colorado two-way star and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, Michigan cornerback Will Johnson and Notre Dame corner Benjamin Morrison.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: SI.com - Albert Breer

Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons (knee), who tore his patellar tendon back in October, might not be medically cleared to play football until August after going through a combine re-check in mid-April, according to SI.com's Albert Breer. It's a tough injury for big men to return from, meaning there's a good chance the 22-year-old isn't ready to go for the start of his rookie season in the NFL this fall. Simmons recently decided to change his mind and not attend the 2025 NFL draft in person, which means he probably isn't going to be taken in the first round after his injury. Simmons' torn patellar tendon ended his final season with the Buckeyes early in 2024, but if not for that injury, the 6-foot-5 lineman might have been in contention to be a top-10 pick. Even though he might not go in the first round, he's still considered a top-three tackle in this year's class.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: SI.com - Albert Breer

Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell (shoulder) had shoulder surgery after the NFL scouting combine in February, and teams are projecting him as a candidate to start his rookie season on the Physically Unable to Perform list in 2025, according to SI.com's Albert Breer. Before his labrum injury, the 21-year-old linebacker was considered a potential top-10 pick in this draft. Campbell's injury is definitely going to cause him to slide down the board in this year's draft, but a team seeking defensive help like the Cincinnati Bengals could find excellent value later on with Campbell. There's a good chance that Campbell will have to miss time early on in his first year in the NFL, but it doesn't mean that he won't have the ability to be a staple in the middle of a team's defense down the road. Even though he's injured, it's possible he'll still be taken in the first round on Thursday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: SI.com - Albert Breer

University of Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams (ankle) had a so-so workout last week for NFL teams and said that he wasn't at his best because of an ankle injury that he suffered last fall, according to SI.com's Albert Breer. The 20-year-old defensive end is largely expected to be a first-round selection in this year's NFL draft on Thursday evening, but ESPN has him projected to be one of their first-round busts. He didn't end up testing at the scouting combine in February, and although he had 5.5 sacks in his junior year with the Bulldogs, Williams had only four sacks in his first two seasons in college. Williams will need to stay healthy to realize his potential at the next level, and some NFL teams may have enough concerns about his ankle injury to stay away from him altogether in the first round.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: SI.com - Albert Breer

Michigan cornerback Will Johnson (knee) has a knee issue that has been flagged leading up to this week's 2025 NFL draft. SI.com's Albert Breer writes that it shouldn't affect Johnson in the short term, but NFL teams are concerned that it could impact his overall longevity. In addition to questions about his long speed, Johnson could slide early on his this year's draft as a result. The fact that the 22-year-old didn't run the 40-yard dash at the scouting combine in February didn't help his cause, and he also suffered a foot injury last October. Johnson also missed Michigan's Pro Day workout due to hamstring injury. It was reported that Johnson scheduled some private workouts earlier this month, so he should be healthy and ready to go for training camp this summer. But all of these injury concerns will probably make teams hesitant to take him early in the first round on Thursday night.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: SI.com - Albert Breer

The Dallas Cowboys are expected to pick up the fifth-year option for the 2026 season for offensive guard Tyler Smith, the former first-rounder (24th overall) in 2022 out of Tulsa, a person with knowledge of the decision told The Dallas Morning News' Calvin Watkins. It doesn't come as much of a surprise after the 24-year-old left guard made the Pro Bowl in two of his three NFL seasons as one of the best players on the Cowboys' offensive line. Smith's presence on Dallas' O-line is of even more importance after both right guard Zack Martin and left tackle Tyron Smith retired in the offseason. His projected salary for the 2026 season will be $23.4 million since he has made multiple Pro Bowls. Smith will earn a base salary of $2.5 million in 2025 after signing a four-year, $13.3 million deal with Dallas. Additionally, the Cowboys are interested in locking up Smith to a long-term contract extension.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Dallas Morning News - Calvin Watkins

Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens and the Philadelphia Eagles agreed to a four-year, $68 million contract extension on Monday that includes $39.4 million guaranteed, according to the Eagles and his agent, Ryan Tollner. The deal ties Jurgens to the Eagles through the 2029 season. The move comes despite the fact that Jurgens had offseason back surgery in February. The 25-year-old is expected to be ready to go for training camp at the end of July. The former second-round pick (51st overall) in 2022 out of Nebraska helped the Eagles capture a Super Bowl ring in 2024 in his third year in the league and was able to start a career-high 16 regular-season games. Jurgens will hopefully continue to make the tush push a big success for the Eagles' offense in short-yardage and goal-line situations. He was a big part of Philly's success on offense last year in both the pass and run game.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud said he'll be "taking full ownership, running the show" in new offensive coordinator Nick Calley's system and appreciates how Calley is already putting trust in him. Stroud didn't look at all like a rookie in 2023 under previous offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, but he came back down to Earth a bit in 2024 in his sophomore campaign and finished as the QB17 in fantasy while throwing for 3,727 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 17 regular-season games. Protection was the biggest issue, as the former second overall pick took a whopping 52 sacks in 2024 after being sacked 38 times in 15 regular-season games as a rookie. Stroud could be more effective again with more control of the offense, particularly before the snap, leaving him as a fine midrange QB1 bounce-back target in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - DJ Bien-Aime

There is some uncertainty as to whether San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner will take part in the team's offseason program (which begins on Tuesday) as he seeks a long-term contract extension, according to The Athletic's Michael Silver. Warner and the 49ers have yet to have substantive contract talks this offseason, but Silver reports that he's likely to report for voluntary activities. The 28-year-old had another All-Pro season in 2024 and finished as a top-10 fantasy linebacker in IDP formats with 131 tackles (76 solo), one sack, five tackles for loss, two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), seven pass breakups and four forced fumbles in 17 starts. He was a Pro Bowler for the fourth time in his career and for the third straight season. Regardless of his contract situation, Warner should be an every-week IDP starter as long as he's healthy. He's had 100-plus total tackles in all seven of his NFL seasons.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - Michael Silver

There is some uncertainty as to whether San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle will attend voluntary activities as he seeks a new contract, according to The Athletic's Michael Silver. Kittle is heading into the final year of a five-year, $75 million deal and is considered much more of a long shot to get something done because he and the team remain far apart in contract discussions. Even though Kittle is on the wrong side of 30 and is an injury risk, he was the TE2 in half-PPR scoring in 2024 thanks to 78 catches on 94 targets for 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games played. It was even more impressive due to the fact that he played much of the season with cracked ribs. Because of his production last year, Kittle will continue to be a high-end tight end target in fantasy drafts this fall, but the risk is also high given his propensity for injuries.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - Michael Silver
