The Jacksonville Jaguars have "no plans right now" to pick up linebacker Devin Lloyd's fifth-year option, according to head coach Liam Coen. According to NFL.com, the team is still working to get to know Lloyd before deciding on the 2022 first-round pick. Since being taken with the No. 27 overall pick, Lloyd has racked up 335 tackles (195 solo), two sacks, one forced fumble, four fumble recoveries, four interceptions, 19 pass deflections, and 22.5 run stuffs in 48 career games. Former University of Tennessee defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott visited with the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns this week and has visits with the Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, and San Francisco 49ers on the schedule this week and next week. The 23-year-old is one of the top interior pass-rushers in the 2025 NFL Draft class, which has become more of an emphasis for NFL teams. Norman-Lott played three seasons at Arizona State before two seasons in Knoxville, racking up 89 tackles (47 solo), 17 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, two pass deflections, and one forced fumble in 44 career games. Lott could hear his name called in Round 1 of next month's draft, but he's likely to be picked in the second or third round.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo said that concerns about cornerback Asante Samuel Jr.'s (neck, shoulder) medicals have really put a damper on his free-agent market this offseason. Garafolo believes that Samuel would have already signed by now if there weren't concerns about injuries that limited him to a career-low four games played in 2024 with the Los Angeles Chargers. The 25-year-old did take a visit to the Arizona Cardinals this offseason, but he remains on the open market with the NFL draft right around the corner. The former second-round pick (47th overall) in 2021 by the Chargers out of Florida State is still young and has plenty of ability when healthy, so he should eventually land with a team once he's recovered from his injuries. In his first three years with the Bolts, Samuel had 163 tackles (137 solo), six interceptions, 35 pass breakups and a fumble recovery in 46 games (43 starts).

Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said that cornerback Trevon Diggs (knee) might not be ready for the start of the 2025 regular season this fall. Diggs had surgery on his left knee in late January, putting his status firmly in doubt for Week 1, especially since it's the same knee the 26-year-old defensive back suffered an ACL tear in back in 2023. In addition to his knee injury, Diggs also dealt with ankle, calf and foot injuries in 2024 and was limited to 11 starts, recording 42 tackles (35 solo), two interceptions and 11 pass breakups in his fifth year in Dallas. The former second-round selection (51st overall) in 2020 out of Alabama was a first-team All-Pro in 2021 when he had a league-high 11 interceptions. Since then, though, Diggs has had six picks in 30 games and has been saddled by injuries the last two seasons.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown (knee) has been progressing well in his recovery from a significant knee injury, and there is optimism that he could return around the middle of the 2025 season, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Overshown was having a breakout campaign in 2024 before his knee injury, piling up 84 tackles, five sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, one fumble recovery, eight tackles for loss and a defensive touchdown in the first 13 games (12 starts) of his NFL career. The 24-year-old former third-rounder (90th overall) in 2023 out of Texas had surgery to fix ACL, MCL and PCL tears in his right knee on Dec. 18. The Cowboys will just be hoping that Overshown will be able to show the same type of burst he had as a pass-rusher in his rookie year when he returns from his serious knee injury. Fantasy managers in single-year IDP formats can ignore Overshown to begin the season.

Cleveland Browns exclusive-rights free-agent linebacker Winston Reid signed his tender on Tuesday to officially return to the team for the 2025 season. Reid will return for his second NFL season in Cleveland after recording 23 tackles (15 solo), half a sack, two pass breakups and one fumble recovery in 16 games (three starts) in his rookie year after going undrafted out of Weber State. The 25-year-old linebacker will return to the Browns and will enter training camp this summer in a reserve role at middle linebacker behind Jordan Hicks. He will be hoping to perform well enough in camp and the preseason to earn a 53-man roster spot going into Week 1 this fall.

The Arizona Cardinals hosted Tennessee edge rusher James Pearce Jr. on Monday and plan to host Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams on Wednesday, according to NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo. The Cardinals ranked 28th in pass rush win rate (33%) last season, and that is a clear area of need for the organization under head coach Jonathan Gannon. Pearce was a first-team All-SEC selection in 2023 and 2024 behind 17 sacks over the last two campaigns. Williams was a second-team All-SEC performer with 9.5 sacks over the same span. Both prospects present a high upside at the next level.

Four-time All-Pro safety Justin Simmons remains unsigned following the first month of NFL free agency, and the 31-year-old is in no rush to join a new team as he waits to find the right fit. Simmons signed with the Atlanta Falcons last August after spending eight seasons with the Denver Broncos, so a similar timeline could play out in 2025. Simmons has collected 665 tackles (478 solo), 4.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, 32 interceptions, and 71 pass deflections since being selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Boston College. Simmons mentioned the Philadelphia Eagles as a potential landing spot thanks to his previous relationship with former Broncos head coach and current Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. Simmons hopes to sign before training camp, but he'll continue to wait for the right opportunity to continue his playing career into his 10th NFL season.

University of Michigan All-American cornerback Will Johnson (hamstring), who is considered one of the top cornerbacks in this year's draft class, will work out for NFL teams on Monday in Ann Arbor now that he's fully healed from a hamstring injury that he suffered in February, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Johnson will visit with the Las Vegas Raiders next Tuesday. The 22-year-old defensive back also suffered a foot injury last October, which is what caused him to skip workouts at the scouting combine. His hamstring injury was considered a minor one, so he should be ready to go for training camp this summer as he heads into his first NFL season. If he can prove he's at full health on Monday, Johnson should be the first cornerback to come off the board in the first round in the draft later this month.

The Minnesota Vikings announced on Monday that they released cornerback Nahshon Wright. The 26-year-old defensive back finds himself on the open market this offseason after the Vikings acquired him in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys last August in exchange for Andrew Booth. Wright was a non-factor in his lone season in Minnesota, recording zero tackles in just one game after posting 37 tackles (27 solo), an interception and five pass breakups in 32 games (three starts) in his first three years in the NFL with the Cowboys. He only played 15 snaps for the Vikings, all of which came on special teams. Wright will mostly likely continue in a special-teams role for whatever organization takes a chance on him next. Dallas selected him in the third round (99th overall) in the 2021 NFL draft out of Oregon State.

In his first full season in the NFL with the Bears in 2024, Williams totaled 23 tackles (17 solo), three sacks and seven QB hits in 17 games (one start). The 26-year-old interior lineman will return for a second season in Chicago to provide rotational depth for the Bears defense. Williams went undrafted out of Wagner before joining the Indianapolis Colts for his rookie year in 2021. The 6-foot-3, 302-pounder had just six tackles (three solo) in 13 games (zero starts) in his first two years with the Colts.

The Las Vegas Raiders officially re-signed exclusive-rights free-agent defensive end Charles Snowden, defensive tackle Matthew Butler, linebacker Kana'i Mauga, offensive guard Jordan Meredith and cornerback Sam Webb on Monday. Snowden will return for a second season with the Raiders after recording 39 tackles (18 solo), 1.5 sacks, seven QB hits and four pass breakups in 16 games (nine starts). The 27-year-old went undrafted out of the University of Virginia before latching on with the Chicago Bears for his rookie season in 2021. He appeared in only two games that year and didn't record a single tackle in the Windy City. Snowden will merely be hoping to stand out again in a rotational role at defensive end in 2025 behind Maxx Crosby and Malcolm Koonce.

The Atlanta Falcons announced on Monday that they re-signed restricted free-agent cornerback Dee Alford to an undisclosed one-year deal. Alford will return to the team in 2025 for his fourth season with the team after collecting 149 tackles (104 solo), 1.5 sacks, an interception, 24 pass breakups, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in 48 games (16 starts) the last three years with Atlanta. The 27-year-old was an undrafted free agent out of Tusculum. He had a career-high 83 tackles (61 solo), 11 pass breakups and a forced fumble in 16 games played (11 starts) last year. The Falcons originally did not tender an offer to Alford, but after he tested the free-agent market this offseason, he will return to the team to provide depth in the secondary. Alford will continue to work out of the slot for the Falcons.

After previously being pretty sure that the Cleveland Browns would take a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in this year's NFL draft, ESPN's Adam Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday that signs are now pointing to Cleveland using the second overall pick on University of Colorado two-way player Travis Hunter. The Browns wanted to select Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 2 pick, but now it's become clear that the Tennessee Titans are going to hold onto the top pick to take Ward. Schefter says the Browns could take Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter to pair him with All-Pro pass-rusher Myles Garrett, but the current intel he's received points to their pick being Hunter. The Browns really liked what they saw out of the Heisman Trophy winner at his Pro Day last Friday, and Schefter believes they view him more as a receiver than as a defensive back.

former Pro Bowl cornerback Shaquill Griffin is scheduled to visit with the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, sources told FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Griffin is one of the top free agents still available and he appeared in 17 regular-season games (three starts) for the Minnesota Vikings last year while recording 41 tackles (33 solo), two interceptions and six pass breakups in his eighth year in the NFL. It would be a homecoming for the 29-year-old defensive back if he were to sign with Seattle, as he spent the first four years of his career with the Seahawks after they took him in the third round (90th overall) in 2017 out of Central Florida. Griffin made his only Pro Bowl in Seattle in 2019, when he had 65 tackles (45 solo) and 13 pass breakups in 14 regular-season starts. He hasn't started more than seven games since 2022, but the 435 pass-coverage snaps he played in 2024 were his most since 2021.
