Kyle Pitts Unlikely to Practice on Tuesday
Kyle Pitts (foot) is unlikely to be on the field at mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and the team will continue to be "cautious" with him. Pitts was already trending down in fantasy circles this offseason after yet another disappointing campaign in 2024 that saw him catch 47 of his 74 targets for 602 yards, although he did catch a career-high four touchdowns in 17 games (15 starts). Now the 24-year-old is missing on-field reps this offseason with a foot injury that he Falcons haven't released many details on. The former first-rounder is heading into the final year of his rookie deal and has been mentioned as a trade candidate. A change of scenery might be what Pitts needs to return to his rookie level of production, when he had a 68-1,026-1 line. Pitts has now become a TE2 in fantasy.Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Tori McElhaney
Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said that tight end Jonnu Smith, Jalen Ramsey Not at Mandatory Minicamp
Jonnu Smith and cornerback Jalen Ramsey are not present for the start of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. Neither Smith nor Ramsey attended voluntary OTAs, either. Smith is seeking a new deal after setting franchise marks at the TE position last year with an 88-884-8 line in 17 games. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are fully expected to trade Ramsey this offseason due to a relationship that has soured. The 29-year-old Smith is heading into the final year of a two-year contract, but he wants to stick around in Miami, so this is something that could get worked out before the start of the 2025 season. Smith's fantasy value as a midrange TE1 will be strongest if he sticks in Miami as one of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's top targets next to wideouts Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.Source: ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques
Miami Dolphins tight end Tyreek Hill Catching Passes at Mandatory Minicamp
Tyreek Hill (wrist) started catching passes during individual drills at mandatory minicamp on Tuesday for the first time since having offseason wrist surgery, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. Hill is just starting to get comfortable catching again, but it's a step in the right direction, and the Dolphins hope he's able to resume team drills in training camp this summer. The 31-year-old speedy wideout had multiple surgeries on a wrist injury that bothered him throughout the 2024 season, although he didn't miss any games because of it. Miami's offense wasn't the same explosive unit we saw in previous seasons, and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's injuries didn't help. The Cheetah is now more of a low-end WR1/high-end WR2 target after going for an 81-959-6 line in 17 starts in 2024. RotoBaller has the five-time All-Pro ranked as the No. 14 fantasy wideout.Source: NFL Network - Cameron Wolfe
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Bills Sign Shaq Thompson to One-Year Deal
Source: Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills announced on Tuesday that they signed free-agent linebacker Shaq Thompson (Achilles) to an undisclosed one-year deal. Thompson heads to the AFC East after spending the first 10 years of his NFL career with the Carolina Panthers, where he racked up 752 tackles (470 solo), 12 sacks, 54 tackles for loss, 32 QB hits, three interceptions, 26 pass breakups, four forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown). The 31-year-old former first-rounder played in only four games in his final year in Carolina in 2024 before suffering a torn Achilles. He also played in just two games in 2023 due to a fractured fibula, so it remains to be seen if Thompson will be able to recapture his pre-injury form in Buffalo. The Bills will take a chance on him in 2025, though, and he could bounce back after four straight seasons of 100-plus combined tackles from 2019-22.James Cook Present at Mandatory Minicamp
James Cook is officially present at mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, although it's unclear how much he'll actually participate this week as he seeks a new long-term deal, a source tells NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cook skipped voluntary organized team activities in April and May but wasn't ready to be fined by skipping minicamp as he looks for a new deal as he heads into the final year of his current deal. The 25-year-old former second-rounder had a big year for the Bills and fantasy managers in his third season in 2024. After scoring four rushing touchdowns combined in his first two seasons, Cook broke out with a league-high 16 TDs on the ground while finishing with 1,009 rushing yards on 207 carries. He added 32 catches for 258 yards and two more scores. The two-time Pro Bowler will face serious TD regression in 2025 but should still be the unquestioned RB1 in Buffalo.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Buffalo Bills running back Trevor Lawrence Dealing With "General Soreness"
Trevor Lawrence (arm) was in a sleeve during mandatory minicamp on Tuesday due to "general soreness." Lawrence is wearing a sleeve on his right throwing arm. Lawrence's right arm is a bit sore after throwing a lot during OTAs, and Coen added that the former first-rounder feels good. The 25-year-old had surgery in December for an AC joint sprain in his left, non-throwing shoulder, but that shouldn't be an issue come the start of the regular season this fall. Lawrence is learning a new offense under Coen this offseason while working with rookie wideout Travis Hunter and offseason acquisition Dyami Brown, in addition to second-year pass-catcher Brian Thomas Jr. The Clemson product has enough weapons to rebound and be more efficient under Coen after an injury-plagued season in 2024. Draft Lawrence as a low-end QB2 with upside in fantasy.Source: 1010 XL - Rick Ballou
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said that quarterback C.J. Stroud Throwing at Mandatory Minicamp
C.J. Stroud (shoulder) was throwing during mandatory minicamp on Tuesday as he continues to get over muscle tightness in his shoulder that he dealt with during voluntary organized team activities recently, according to KPRC 2 Houston's Aaron Wilson. It's not a surprise that Stroud is out there this week after head coach DeMeco Ryans said during OTAs that he wasn't really concerned with the QB's shoulder. The 23-year-old former first-rounder was the Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2023 but took a step back in 2024, throwing for 3,727 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while taking 52 sacks in 17 regular-season starts. A porous offensive line and knee injuries to Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell didn't help his cause as he finished as the QB18 in fantasy. Houston's offense line is going to have to be much better for Stroud to rebound in 2025.Source: KPRC 2 Sports - Aaron Wilson
Houston Texans quarterback Terry McLaurin Not Attending Mandatory Minicamp
Terry McLaurin is not attending mandatory minicamp this week, reports FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. McLaurin has made it clear to the team that he's not happy with the lack of progress on a long-term deal and also left voluntary workouts last week unexpectedly after initially attending OTAs. The 29-year-old is heading into the final year of his three-year, $68.2 million deal and is coming off his fifth straight 1,000-yard receiving season in which he also had a career-high 13 touchdowns in 17 regular-season starts as quarterback Jayden Daniels' top target. The Daniels McLaurin pairing should continue to produce, but fantasy managers will want to expect touchdown regression, and the addition of Deebo Samuel Sr. could also change the dynamic of Washington's offense. Target McLaurin as a high-end WR2 in fantasy this fall.Source: FOX Sports - Jordan Schultz
Washington Commanders All-Pro wide receiver Cam Akers to Try Out for Saints During Minicamp
Cam Akers will try out for the New Orleans Saints this week during their mandatory minicamp, a league source tells Nick Underhill. Akers spent last year with the Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings, combining for 104 carries for 444 rushing yards and two touchdowns while adding 14 receptions on 18 targets for 68 receiving yards and three additional TDs. The 25-year-old former second-rounder (52nd overall) by the Los Angeles Rams in 2020 out of Florida State would serve in a depth role for the Saints if he were to impress them this week and sign a contract for 2025. Alvin Kamara is still the team's workhorse back under new head coach Kellen Moore, with former third-rounder Kendre Miller and rookie sixth-rounder Devin Neal expected to compete for the RB2 role at training camp this summer. Akers has torn his Achilles twice and remains off the fantasy radar for now.Source: NewOrleans.Football - Nick Underhill
Free-agent running back James Cook Will Attend Mandatory Minicamp
James Cook is currently in Buffalo and will attend mandatory minicamp this week, a source tells the Circling the Wagons Podcast. Cook and the Bills aren't close to agreeing to a contract extension, which led to the belief that the 25-year-old wouldn't show up for minicamp this week. However, Cook may have reconsidered so that he won't be fined. He didn't show up for voluntary organized team activities in April and May as he heads into the final year of his current contract. The two-time Pro Bowler had his second straight 1,000-yard rushing season and also led the NFL with 16 rushing touchdowns in 16 regular-season starts in 2024, adding 32 catches for 258 yards and two more TDs. Fantasy managers need to expect regression in the TD department. Remember, he had only two scores on the ground in each of 2022 and 2023. RotoBaller has Cook ranked as the RB13 going into 2025.Source: Circling The Wagons Podcast
Buffalo Bills running back Anthony Richardson to Get Another Opinion on his Shoulder
Anthony Richardson (shoulder), who was shut down on the second day of organized team activities last week, will seek another opinion on his troublesome right shoulder with Dr. Neal ElAttrache this week. ElAttrache is the one who did Richardson's AC-joint surgery in 2023. The Colts said that the 23-year-old former first-rounder's shoulder was structurally sound, but the fact that he's visiting with the same doctor that did his surgery isn't good news, and he'll also miss mandatory minicamp this week. There's currently no timetable for Richardson's return, and it's fair to wonder if he'll even be ready for the start of training camp at the end of July. Richardson could still be ready for Week 1 this fall, but right now, his injury increases the chances that Daniel Jones will open the 2025 season as Indy's starting QB.Source: SI.com - Albert Breer
SI.com's Albert Breer reports that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Texans Officially Sign Nick Chubb to One-Year Deal
Nick Chubb to a one-year, $2.5 million deal on Monday that could be worth up to $5 million, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Chubb passed a physical after a gruesome left-knee injury in 2023 that required multiple surgeries. The former Cleveland Browns Pro Bowler was one of the most powerful backs in the league before his injury, as he went for a career-high 1,525 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 302 carries in 2022. He managed to play in just eight games last year, though, and wasn't the same, averaging a career-low 3.3 yards per carry with 332 rushing yards and three scores on 102 rushing attempts. Chubb also fractured his left foot in Week 15 last year, so he may never be the same explosive back he once was. Now in Houston, he'll be competing with Dameon Pierce for RB2 duties behind starter Joe Mixon.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
The Houston Texans officially signed free-agent running back Browns Sign Jackson Barton on Monday
Source: Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns announced on Monday that they signed offensive tackle Jackson Barton to an undisclosed deal and waived center Justin Osborne with an injury designation in a corresponding move. Barton suffered an ankle injury last year and ended the 2024 season with the Arizona Cardinals on Injured Reserve, but he's recovered now and will be attempting to win a roster spot in Cleveland this summer. The 29-year-old was a former seventh-round pick (240th overall) by the Indianapolis Colts in 2019 out of Utah. He broke into the NFL in 2021 with the Las Vegas Raiders and spent two years with the team before playing in Arizona the last two seasons. Barton has only started two of the 13 games he's appeared in over his four years in the NFL.Chidobe Awuzie Injured in OTAs
Source: 105.7 The Fan - Cordell Woodland
Baltimore Ravens cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (ankle) suffered what appeared to be an ankle injury in Monday's voluntary organized team activities, but 105.7 The Fan's Courdell Woodland doesn't think the injury is very serious. It's unclear if Awuzie will be available now for mandatory minicamp this month, but the 30-year-old veteran should be good for training camp at the end of July as he heads into his first season in Baltimore. In just eight games (seven starts) for the Tennessee Titans last year, Awuzie had 26 tackles (17 solo), an interception, four pass breakups and a forced fumble. The former second-rounder (60th overall) by the Dallas Cowboys in 2017 out of Colorado will give the Ravens secondary depth in 2025, but he can be ignored in IDP fantasy drafts.Buccaneers Hopeful Chris Godwin Will be Ready for Week 1
Chris Godwin (ankle) will be ready for Week 1 of the 2025 regular season this fall after dislocating his ankle last year. Bowles said that Godwin has been working hard ahead of this week's mandatory minicamp. The 29-year-old was on his way to a career year and had five touchdowns in seven games before suffering a season-ending injury in 2024. He took less money to return to Tampa in the offseason on a three-year, $66 million deal in March. With offensive coordinator Liam Coen now out of town and Godwin coming off a serious ankle injury, fantasy managers have plenty of reasons to be skeptical that he'll look as good as he did before his injury last year. Perhaps the biggest threat to Godwin's workload in 2025 is rookie first-round wideout Emeka Egbuka.Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said the team is hopeful that wide receiver
