Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Hyeseong Kim is out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Athletics. This appears to be a regular rest day for Kim against a left-handed starting. Since being called up, Kim has gone 7-for-22 at the plate with two RBI and two stolen bases in nine games. He doesn't have great fantasy value, but is worth rostering in deep leagues while Tommy Edman (ankle) is sidelined. On Tuesday, Miguel Rojas will cover second base and bat eighth versus left-hander Jeffrey Springs. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly ahead of first pitch.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: mlb.com

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy is out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game versus the Athletics. This appears to be a routine rest day for Muncy with a left-handed starting pitcher on the mound for the A's. Normally, Muncy is worth rostering in fantasy formats due to his power ability. However, Muncy has been awful to start the season as he's slashing .186/.311/.294 with one home run and seven RBI heading into this contest. Kike Hernandez will bat sixth and cover third base versus left-hander Jeffrey Springs on Tuesday. Muncy is probably worth holding in deep leagues, but isn't offering much fantasy value right now.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: mlb.com

Chicago White Sox infielder Gage Workman (hip) was activated off the 10-day injured list and designated for assignment by the organization. Workman only managed to play in one game for the White Sox before going down with a hip injury. He was traded to the White Sox from the Chicago Cubs a few weeks ago. Workman is a Rule 5 pick, so he'll be offered back to the Detroit Tigers, assuming he clears waivers. Last season, Workman slashed .280/.366/.476 with 18 home runs, 89 RBI, and 30 stolen bases in 126 games in Double-A with the Tigers organization. Workman appears to be able to do enough with the bat to warrant a bench spot on an MLB roster.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Chicago White Sox

Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk (head) is not in the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Despite that, Jays' manager John Schneider said that Kirk has passed concussion protocol testing and is likely available off the bench for this game. This is good news after Kirk was hit in the head by a backswing during Sunday's contest. The expectation is that Kirk will be back in the starting lineup on Wednesday. For now, Tyler Heineman will cover behind the plate and bat eighth versus right-hander Shane Baz on Tuesday.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Mitch Bannon

Seattle Mariners infielder Jorge Polanco is out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the New York Yankees. After a rough 2024 campaign, Polanco has bounced back nicely early this year. He's slashing .327/.372/.673 with 10 home runs and 29 RBI in 31 games. Despite that, Polanco will head to the bench against tough left-hander Max Fried on Tuesday. In his absence, Mitch Garver will bat fifth and serve as the designated hitter against Fried. Garver has good career numbers against left-handed pitching, but Fried has been on another level to start the season. That being said, Garver won't be a recommended streaming option while Polanco can be benched in fantasy formats on Tuesday.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: mlb.com

Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Jordan Lawlar will make his season debut against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday. Lawlar was called up on Monday after hitting .336/.413/.579 with six home runs and 13 steals with Triple-A Reno. The 22-year-old is a top prospect that is viewed as a five-category fantasy contributor. His role in Arizona is unclear, but he figures to get significant playing time off the bench at multiple positions. Lawlar struggled during his 14-game stretch with the D-Backs in 2023, but has a ton of potential. He'll cover shortstop and bat eighth versus left-hander Robbie Ray on Tuesday. Lawlar is someone that needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: mlb.com

The Kansas City Royals signed free-agent left-hander Rich Hill to a minor-league deal on Tuesday, the club announced. Hill will report to the team's spring training complex in Surprise, Ariz., and is expected to join Triple-A Omaha soon. Despite being 45 years old, the veteran southpaw is giving it another go as he tries to return to the big leagues for a 21st season. The former fourth-round selection by the Chicago Cubs in 2002 out of Michigan doesn't have much left in the tank but could provide the Royals with some left-handed pitching depth at some point this year, either as a spot starter or long-reliever out of the bullpen. For fantasy purposes, he can continue to be ignored everywhere. Hill appeared in just four games out of the Boston Red Sox's bullpen in 2024 and allowed two earned runs on a homer while walking three and fanning five.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Kansas City Royals

"As of now," Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that struggling right-hander Tanner Houck will make his next start on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves. MassLive's Chris Cotillo writes that there seems to be a little wiggle room for Houck, who has allowed double-digit runs in fewer than three innings in two separate outings already in 2025. The 28-year-old is at a loss for answers to why he's been so bad through his first nine starts of the season while sporting a nightmarish 8.04 ERA (6.13 FIP), a 1.69 WHIP, a league-high 57 hits allowed, a league-high 39 earned runs allowed and a league-high five hit by pitches after he was a first-time All-Star just last year. The Red Sox are going to give Houck at least another start to try to figure something out, and it will come against the offensively-challenged Braves. Even though it's a friendly matchup on paper, we'd suggest avoiding Houck right now.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MassLive.com - Chris Cotillo

San Francisco Giants infielders Tyler Fitzgerald (rib) and Casey Schmitt (oblique) are both starting their minor-league rehab assignments with Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, according to MLB.com's Justice delos Santos. Fitzgerald is at second base and is batting leadoff, while Schmitt is at first base and hitting second for the River Cats. Fitzgerald is recovering from a fractured left rib, but barring setbacks, both infielders could rejoin the major-league roster in San Francisco by later this week or the weekend. The 27-year-old Fitzgerald is more fantasy relevant, as he'll likely return to regular playing time at the keystone with the Giants when he returns from the injured list. He hit .280 in 96 games a year ago with 15 home runs and 17 stolen bases, making him attractive as a middle-infield option for fantasy managers in deep-mixed leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com - Justice delos Santos

ESPN's Jeff Passan reports that Major League Baseball has reinstated Pete Rose, "Shoeless" Joe Jackson and other deceased players from its permanently ineligible list on Tuesday. Rose, MLB's all-time leader in hits, and Jackson were long-time baseball pariahs with their reputations stained by gambling. Rose was banned from baseball in August of 1989 following an MLB investigation that determined the 17-time All-Star had bet on games as a manager of the Cincinnati Reds. Jackson and seven other Chicago White Sox players were banned from playing pro baseball in 1921 for fixing the 1919 World Series. In addition to Rose and Jackson, Tuesday's ruling removes a total of 16 deceased players and one deceased owner from the league's banned list. Rose and Jackson could be enshrined into baseball's Hall of Fame in the summer of 2028 if they are elected.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Jeff Passan

The Texas Rangers reinstated catcher Kyle Higashioka (intercostal) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday, according to the Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant. The Rangers haven't released their starting lineup for Tuesday's contest against the visiting Colorado Rockies yet, so fantasy managers will want to check back before throwing Higgy back into their starting lineups. The 35-year-old veteran backstop played in only two minor-league rehab games and will return to split duties behind the plate with Jonah Heim in Texas. Higashioka broke out with the San Diego Padres in 2024 for a career year with 17 home runs and 45 RBI, but he hit just .220 and won't have nearly as much fantasy value in Texas as he splits playing time essentially down the middle with Heim. He'll return to a .254/.279/.390 slash line with just one homer and eight RBI in 17 games played this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Dallas Morning News - Evan Grant

Texas Rangers closer Luke Jackson's hand is still swollen on Tuesday, but he's very optimistic after taking a comebacker off his hand in Monday's contest against the visiting Colorado Rockies. The Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant reports that Jackson has a decent amount of strength and is squeezing a stress ball after initial X-rays on Monday night came back negative for any fractures or breaks. It sounds as though the 33-year-old veteran should avoid a trip to the injured list, but it wouldn't be a surprise if he's not available if a save situation arises again on Tuesday. Jacob Webb replaced Jackson on Monday night in the 2-1 win for his first save of the year, but Texas could give Chris Martin or Robert Garcia the save opportunity on Tuesday if Jackson is unavailable. The main takeaway is that Jackson shouldn't be forced to miss extended time.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Dallas Morning News - Evan Grant
