San Diego Padres right-hander
Yu Darvish (elbow) has thrown several bullpen sessions and has ramped up the intensity with each session. Darvish traveled to the team's spring training complex in Arizona recently and could face live hitters in the coming days. The 38-year-old Japanese veteran was put on the 15-day injured list on March 27 (retroactive to March 24) with right-elbow inflammation that cropped up during spring training. He has yet to pitch at all in 2025, but barring a setback as he continues to ramp up, Darvish could return to the Padres' starting rotation in late May. He will certainly have a rotation spot waiting for him when he's fully healthy, making Darvish a stash candidate in fantasy, even though he's past his prime. The five-time All-Star went 7-3 last year with a 3.31 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with a 78:22 K:BB in 81 2/3 innings over just 16 starts.

San Diego Padres second baseman
Jake Cronenworth (rib) started his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday and went 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBI, three runs scored, three walks and a strikeout. Cronenworth might only need two rehab games at El Paso before potentially joining the Friars for their series opener at Coors Field on Friday against the division-rival Colorado Rockies. Before joining El Paso, the 31-year-old veteran went 1-for-3 in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. When Cronenworth returns to the Padres, he'll resume his role as their regular second baseman, sending
Jose Iglesias back to a bench role in San Diego. The two-time All-Star went 9-for-35 (.257) with two home runs, two doubles, five RBI and seven runs scored in his first 12 games for the Pads before landing on the injured list with a non-displaced right-rib fracture.

X-rays revealed that Milwaukee Brewers catcher
William Contreras (finger) has a fracture of the middle finger on his catching hand, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. It's an old fracture that has bothered Contreras for some time, but he will continue to play through it. The Brewers are working with the All-Star catcher to make a splint for his finger to absorb some of the impact that he takes on a daily basis. He will continue to catch. It helps explain why the 27-year-old Venezuelan backstop has been rather quiet to start the 2025 season at the plate. Heading into Wednesday's action, Contreras has hit .242/.358/.331 with a career-low .689 OPS, three home runs, two doubles, 19 RBI, 19 runs scored and four stolen bases in 35 games played. Contreras isn't in the starting lineup on Wednesday versus the Houston Astros, with Eric Haas doing the catching and batting eighth against Astros left-hander

Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed pitching prospect
Mike Burrows logged a season-high five innings during his victory over Triple-A Columbus. In this outing, Burrows struck out a season-best seven batters and allowed just two hits and one run. He did not serve up a walk. The 25-year-old was promoted to the majors earlier in April but did not make an appearance. Through 22 1/3 innings of work at Triple-A Indianapolis this season, Burrows has logged a solid 3.18 ERA with a 1.01 WHIP. He has struck out 25 batters and served up eight walks. Last summer, Burrows made his MLB debut but logged only three 1/3 innings of work. Given his steady production at Triple-A, fantasy managers should expect the Waterford HS product to contend for a return to the majors later this summer.

Los Angeles Angels closer
Kenley Jansen (illness) was "under the weather" during the team's victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, according to manager Ron Washington. However, Jansen is expected to be fine to pitch on Wednesday as the series against Toronto continues. The 37-year-old veteran right-hander has not pitched since Saturday, when he picked up his seventh save of the year. Jansen's surface numbers don't look too appealing, as he's sporting an 0-1 record with a 5.79 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, nine strikeouts and two walks to go along with his seven saves in 9 1/3 innings pitched. However, all six of the earned runs that he's allowed so far in 2025 came in a disastrous loss to the Detroit Tigers on May 2 in which he gave up six runs on six hits (three homers) with no walks and a strikeout in just two-thirds of an inning. If a save situation arises on Wednesday, Jansen should be available.

Texas Rangers first base prospect
Justin Foscue went 2-for-4 with a home run during Tuesday's contest against Triple-A El Paso. This was Foscue's second long ball in his previous three contests. This was also his third-straight contest tallying at least one RBI. Through 30 games at Triple-A this season, Foscue has posted an impressive .307/.409/.500 slash line with seven doubles, five home runs, and a 25:20 K:BB. Last summer, Foscue made his MLB debut and tallied just two hits across his first 15 contests. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he should be in the mix to return to the major leagues later in the summer. If he continues to hit for power at Triple-A, the 26-year-old could eventually earn a permanent role on the MLB roster.

Jared Triolo is taking the day off for Wednesday's series finale against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
Liover Peguero is starting at shortstop and is hitting ninth against Cardinals right-hander
Sonny Gray. Triolo will rest on Wednesday after starting at either shortstop or second base in each of the team's last eight games. The 27-year-old hasn't gotten it going offensively yet in 2025, as he's gone just 8-for-57 (.140) with no home runs, an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases for the Pirates. Triolo is a glove-first utility infielder for Pittsburgh that lacks any real fantasy upside with his bat, but he could continue to see most of the starts at the 6 with
Isiah Kiner-Falefa (hamstring) on the injured list. Peguero is a DFS fade in the nine-hole. He has one hit in three career at-bats against Gray.

Detroit Tigers right-handed pitching prospect Jaden Hamm tossed five one-hit innings of work en route to picking up his first victory of the campaign against Double-A Altoona. In this outing, Hamm served up just two free passes and struck out four. This was a strong bounce-back outing for the Middle Tennessee State product as he posted a high 7.31 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP over his last 16 innings of work. Hamm is currently considered to be the No. 9-ranked prospect in the system on MLB Pipeline. Last summer, Hamm spent his entire season at High-A, where he logged 99 innings to the tune of a 2.64 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP. Fantasy managers should expect Hamm to spend most of this season at Double-A. If he continues to find his footing, he could earn a taste of Triple-A during the second half.

Cleveland Guardians right-handed pitching prospect
Aaron Davenport enjoyed his best outing of the young season on Tuesday, as he tossed six shutout innings against Double-A Somerset. In this outing, he allowed just three hits, no walks, and struck out a season-best 10 batters. In his most previous outing, Davenport also tossed six shutout innings but only struck out five batters. Prior to this recent impressive stretch, the 24-year-old held a modest 4.86 ERA with a 1.02 WHIP across his first 16 2/3 innings of work. During this stretch, he struck out just 13 batters and served up three walks. Last summer, Davenport held a 2.85 with a 1.18 WHIP across 142 1/3 innings at Double-A. Given his steady progress, he should be in the mix to reach Triple-A later this summer.

Chicago White Sox outfield prospect
Braden Montgomery went 2-for-4 with two home runs during their contest on Tuesday against High-A Bowling Green. The 22-year-old opened the campaign at Low-A but needed just 18 games to get the call to High-A. During his first seven games at High-A, the No. 5-ranked prospect in the White Sox system has posted an impressive .360/.467/.760 slash line with four doubles and a 7:4 K:BB. Earlier in the summer, Montgomery made his professional debut with Low-A Kannapolis and held a .304/.393/.493 slash line with three long balls. The White Sox drafted Montgomery with the 12th overall pick in last year's MLB Draft. Given his steady progression, Montgomery could be in the mix to reach Double-A in the second half of the campaign.

Cincinnati Reds right-handed pitching prospect
Chase Petty tossed six no-hit innings on Tuesday evening during his start against Triple-A Omaha. He struck out eight batters and served up three free passes. Petty was promoted last week to make his MLB debut, but stumbled in his first outing in the majors as he allowed seven hits and nine runs across two 1/3 innings of work. However, the No. 6-ranked prospect in the Cincinnati system was able to return to form at Triple-A. Over his last 25 2/3 innings of work at Triple-A, Petty has performed at an elite level, posting a stellar 1.05 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP. During this stretch, he struck out 31 batters and allowed just 10 free passes. Given his impressive production at Triple-A, Petty should be in the mix to return to the majors later this summer.

Carlos Correa went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in his team's 9-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles. His other two hits were singles. The 30-year-old ripped his second homer of the season in the third inning -- a two-run shot -- off of Orioles pitcher
Cade Povich to put Minnesota up by five. It left the bat at 109 MPH and traveled a staggering 458 feet. Correa isn't enjoying the same batting average success in 2025 as he did a season ago, when he hit .310, but he's underperforming his .261 xBA (.233). Tuesday marked back-to-back multi-hit efforts for the former first-overall pick, and he's done so three times in his last five appearances.

Houston Astros second baseman
Brendan Rodgers went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. The former third-overall pick drove in Houston's first three runs of the game with his first homer of the season, but that would be all they'd push across in the outing. Rodgers has gotten steady playing time over the past week or so and has actually been better off right-handed pitching this season (13-for-54). It may not be evident in the box score just yet, but he's making far better contact in his first stint with the Astros, sporting career-highs in average exit velocity (91.1 MPH) and hard-hit rate (51.2%). He's still striking out at an undesirable 33.8% clip, though.
