Philadelphia Phillies shortstop prospect
Aidan Miller headlines a group of Phillies prospects headed to the Arizona Fall League (AFL) in October. The season begins on October 6, with Miller,
Otto Kemp, and others representing the Surprise Saguaros. The 21-year-old Miller was a bit slow out of the gates this year, but finished strong, batting .361 with 15 doubles, five home runs, and 15 steals, with as many walks (25) as strikeouts (25) over his last 31 games at Double-A, before receiving a promotion to Triple-A this past Monday. The Phils' second-ranked prospect will get a chance to get some extra reps in the AFL with his sights set on a potential major league debut in 2026.

Los Angeles Angels right-hander
Jose Soriano will not make his scheduled start on Wednesday against the visiting Minnesota Twins in Anaheim, according to Erica Weston of Bally Sports. Soriano will get an extra day of rest and start on Thursday in the series opener in Seattle against the division-rival Mariners. Right-hander
Jose Urena will make the spot start against the Twins at Angel Stadium. The Halos are giving Soriano an extra day after he surrendered eight runs in just 2 1/3 innings to the Athletics his last time out. The 26-year-old won't have an easy bounce-back matchup on the road against a Seattle club in a heated battle for the American League West division lead and the final wild-card spot. Urena has pitched for a whopping five teams this year and has a 4.39 ERA with 26 K's and 13 walks in 14 appearances (five starts). Fantasy managers should look for better streaming options.

Miami Marlins outfield prospect
Dillon Head (undisclosed) was activated from the 7-day injured list at High-A Beloit on Tuesday. It's not clear what was ailing the former first-round draft pick, but he hasn't played since August 20, which was his debut for Beloit after getting promoted from Single-A Jupiter. The Marlins' 11th-ranked prospect slashed .224/.336/.318 during the regular season, with four home runs and 37 steals. The 20-year-old makes it back in time for the High-A playoffs, with the next game (Game 2) for Beloit scheduled for Thursday against Cedar Rapids. While his speed is an asset and he walks at a decent rate, without much power, he'll need to start hitting for a higher average if he's going to make progress through Miami's system next year.

Los Angeles Angels outfielder
Jo Adell (illness) is starting in right field and is batting cleanup for Wednesday's game against the visiting Minnesota Twins and right-hander
Taj Bradley. Adell has been dealing with vertigo since Sunday, which caused him to miss the first two games of the series against Minnesota. The 26-year-old appears to be feeling better now, though, and will return to action against a pitcher that he has only faced twice in his career. Adell has one hit against Bradley. He's been one of the bright spots in 2025 for another disappointing Angels squad, hitting .243/.303/.507 with an .811 OPS and career-highs in home runs (35), RBI (94), and runs scored (57) in 136 games played. Get him back into your starting lineups, but also be aware that he's been scratched from the lineup each of the past two days.

The Chicago White Sox announced on Wednesday that they are recalling right-hander
Sean Burke from Triple-A Charlotte and designating right-hander
Dan Altavilla in a corresponding move. Burke will make the start for Wednesday's contest against the Tampa Bay Rays. After being sent down to the farm last month, the 25-year-old will return to Chicago's starting rotation and could stay there for a couple turns through the end of the season. The former third-rounder went 4-10 with a 4.28 ERA (4.88 FIP) and 1.44 WHIP while striking out 110 and walking 54 in 117 2/3 frames over 24 outings (20 starts). Burke wasn't exactly great after being sent to Charlotte, allowing 11 runs in 12 2/3 innings for the Knights. Fantasy managers should consider him a pretty low-upside streaming option in deeper leagues in his return on Wednesday.

Romy Gonzalez (knee) is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Athletics in Sacramento.
David Hamilton is starting at second base and will hit seventh for the BoSox against A's right-hander
Mason Barnett. Left-knee soreness caused the Red Sox to pull Gonzalez in the second inning of Tuesday's game, and he's now day-to-day after going 2-for-2 with a home run, double, and two RBI before leaving. Boston doesn't sound too concerned about Gonzalez's knee injury for now, so he may be back at the keystone on Friday against the division-rival New York Yankees. The 29-year-old has struggled to stay healthy in 2025, but he's been a solid bat for the Red Sox when he's been available, hitting a career-best .311 (84-for-270) with a career-high nine homers, 48 RBI, and five steals in 84 games.

Anthony Santander (shoulder, back) was supposed to start a minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday, but lower-back tightness prevented it from happening. The team will give Santander one or two days to recover before sending him to play his first rehab game, according to Keegan Matheson of MLB.com. Although it's a minor setback, it continues a frustrating and injury-ravaged season for Santander. The 30-year-old has been on the IL with left-shoulder issues since May 30 and has played in just 50 games this season as a result. When healthy, the former Baltimore slugger has hit a subpar .179/.273/.304 with six homers, 18 RBI, and 14 runs scored over 209 trips to the plate.

Boston Red Sox right-hander
Dustin May (elbow) landed on the 15-day injured list with elbow neuritis on Tuesday (retroactive to Sept. 6). However, he avoided structural damage and expects to return this year. May told reporters there's a "very big possibility" he'll be back before the regular season ends. If that doesn't happen, the 28-year-old is optimistic that he'll be ready for a potential playoff run in October. Whether Boston would want to use May in the postseason is in question, as the former Los Angeles Dodger has fallen flat since joining the Red Sox in a July trade. Xander Bogaerts (foot) has resumed light baseball activities and hopes to come off the 10-day injured list for the final week of the regular season. Bogaerts has been out for almost two weeks after fouling a ball off his left foot and suffering a non-displaced fracture on Aug. 27. Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman
Tyler Locklear (elbow) is expected to miss the rest of the season with an injured left elbow. Locklear landed on the 10-day IL on Monday after colliding with Boston Red Sox catcher

First baseman
Anthony Rizzo is retiring as a member of the Chicago Cubs, Jesse Rogers of ESPN reports. The 36-year-old will serve as an ambassador the Cubs, who will honor him before their game against the Tampa Bay Rays this Saturday. Rizzo entered the professional ranks as a sixth-round pick of the Boston Red Sox in 2007, but they eventually traded him to the San Diego Padres. He made his way to the Cubs in a 2012 trade and became a franchise icon thanks to his on- and off-field contributions. Rizzo spent 2012-21 with Chicago and went on to make three All-Star teams, win four Gold Gloves, and help the club to a World Series title in 2016, breaking a 108-year drought. His run with the Cubs ended when they shipped him to the New York Yankees in July 2021. Rizzo stayed with the Yankees through 2024, and though he showed interest in continuing his career this season, he didn't sign with anyone as a free agent. He'll now wrap up an excellent career in the majors with a .261/.361/.467 line, 303 home runs, and 965 RBI over 1,727 games and 7,336 plate appearances.

New York Mets outfielder
Jose Siri (tibia) was activated from the 60-day injured list on Tuesday after completing a rehab assignment in the minors. The 30-year-old collected at least one hit in six of the eight games he played on the assignment, and was back in the lineup for the Mets on Tuesday night. The 6-foot-2 slugger went 1-for-4 out of the ninth spot in the order, with the lone hit being a double, and he also scored once. The right-handed hitter offers both pop and speed, blasting as many as 25 home runs in 101 games in 2023 for the Rays, and recording at least 12 stolen bases in each of the last three seasons despite playing in no more than 130 games in any of those seasons. The issue is that he strikes out a ton and will likely hurt fantasy managers in the batting average department, so he can be left on the waiver wire in most leagues.

Colorado Rockies rookie infielder
Warming Bernabel (concussion) has been placed on the 7-day concussion injured list after slamming into a wall chasing a foul ball in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Dodgers. The 23-year-old was 5-for-7 (.714) in his previous two games and was slashing .264/.301/.434 with four home runs since he was called up at the end of July. To take his place, the Rockies recalled first baseman
Michael Toglia from Triple-A Albuquerque. Toglia spent 86 games with the Rockies earlier this year and logged 36 games with the Isotopes. Though he's had a rough go of it in the majors, Toglia is known for some big power and was hitting .387 (31-for-80) over his last 22 games at Triple-A, including four doubles, two triples, and six home runs. The left-handed slugger could help fantasy managers looking for power, but it could come at the expense of batting average based on his previous stints in the majors.

Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher
Ryan Pepiot, who was scheduled to start Wednesday's road matchup with the Chicago White Sox, will be scratched due to fatigue. As a result, the Rays will go with a bullpen game, with
Griffin Jax now listed as the scheduled opener. Pepiot is having a fine season, pitching to a 3.59 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and a 15.9 percent K-BB%, however, he's also at a career-high 163 innings pitched, which is 30 more innings than he logged last season. It's bad timing as the Rays try to make a final push towards the playoffs, but hopefully this rest rejuvenates him for a couple of final starts to end the year. Jax hasn't logged more than an inning all year in 65 appearances, so don't expect him to go longer than that on Wednesday.
