Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins (illness) is starting in center field and is hitting cleanup for Monday's series opener against the division-rival New York Yankees at Camden Yards. Mullins will face Yankees right-hander Will Warren, who he has never faced in his career. The 30-year-old outfielder didn't play in Sunday's series finale against the Detroit Tigers because he didn't feel well, but he's back in action a day later. Since being moved to the leadoff spot by the O's on April 18, Mullins has gone 8-for-31 (.258) with two home runs, three RBI, two steals and five runs scored in 37 trips to the plate. Overall, he's hitting a solid .279/.421/.547 with six home runs, 20 RBI, five steals and 17 runs scored in the first month of the season. Mullins has added DFS appeal against righties as long as he's in the leadoff spot. Return him to your fantasy lineups to begin the week.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman (hand) is doing the catching for right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano on Monday and is hitting third against the division-rival New York Yankees and right-hander Will Warren at Camden Yards. Rutschman did not play on Sunday against the Detroit Tigers due to a sore right hand that stemmed from when he blocked all ball in the dirt on Saturday. It wasn't a serious concern, though, and the 27-year-old backstop will end up missing just one game. Rutschman has been a disappointment for fantasy manager early on in the season, hitting just .209 (19-for-91) with four home runs, eight RBI and 12 runs scored. He's been especially bad in the last 11 games, going 5-for-37 (.135) with a homer, two RBI, seven walks and 10 strikeouts. We're expecting the former No. 1 overall pick to turn things around sooner than later.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

On Saturday, New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen told reporters that the team would not pick up offensive lineman Evan Neal's fifth-year option. The 24-year-old was the seventh overall pick for New York in the 2022 NFL Draft, and he was seen as a solid prospect during his college career. However, he's had trouble getting it together at the NFL level and has yet to live up to his first-round billing. In 2024, Neal was surpassed by free agent acquisition Jermaine Eluemunor on the depth chart, appearing in nine games (seven starts). The Giants are expected to try the Florida native out at guard this season, hoping to find another home for him, though it remains to be seen if he will stick. 2025 projects to be his final season with the team.--Alex CiullaSource: John Fennelly

The Carolina Panthers have announced they'll pick up the fifth-year option on offensive lineman Ikem Ekwonu. He'll now be with the team through the 2026 season and garner a fully guaranteed $17.56 million in his fifth season. Carolina drafted the 24-year-old with the sixth-overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. Ekwonu has improved in each campaign since entering the league and was solid for Carolina in 2024, albeit a better run-blocker than he was in pass protection. Still, he's been reliable -- starting 49 of a possible 51 games -- missing just two contests last year with an ankle injury. The North Carolina State product will need to improve against the pass rush in order to eventually gain a lucrative contract, but he's been a fine contributor for the Panthers. He will anchor quarterback Bryce Young's blindside once again in 2025.--Alex CiullaSource: Tim Weaver

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Chandler Simpson went 3-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Padres. The 24-year-old has been superb since his call-up from Triple-A, collecting a hit in each of his first eight games, going 12-for-30 (.400) with three stolen bases and a 3:4 BB:K, so he does not appear to be overmatched. He's made some spectacular plays on defense as well. A plethora of outfielder injuries was one reason for his call-up, but the 5-foot-11 speedster looks like he's ready to be a mainstay in Tampa. As electric as he's been, the Rays' seventh-ranked prospect is still available in over 60 percent of Yahoo! leagues, but that number should be much higher.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Seattle Mariners closer Andres Munoz needed just nine pitches to earn his league-leading 10th save of the season on Sunday, nailing down the 7-6 win over the Marlins. The 26-year-old has been a force in 2025, tossing 14 innings of scoreless ball, allowing just five hits and six walks while striking out 18 (23.5 percent K-BB%). The 6-foot-2 hurler has picked up a win along the way as well, leaving him as the highest-scoring fantasy reliever through the first month of the season. This is one of the few bullpens with no question marks, with Munoz the unquestioned closer in Seattle. Continue to deploy him with confidence.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Philadelphia Phillies reliever Jordan Romano came on in the 10th inning of Sunday's matchup with the Cubs, dispatching Chicago on 13 pitches to secure the 3-1 victory and record the save. It was the righty's second save of the season, but he's not expected to log many more, as lefty Jose Alvarado remains the team's primary closer. Romano hasn't pitched particularly well anyhow, allowing 14 earned runs in 10 1/3 innings (12.19 ERA), posting a 2.03 WHIP and a 7.8 percent K-BB%. Perhaps he can get on a roll and become more relevant in leagues that score for holds, as the 32-year-old does have three of those so far in addition to his two saves.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Tampa Bay Rays closer Pete Fairbanks secured the 4-2 victory over the Padres on Sunday, pitching a clean ninth to record his sixth save of the season. Other than a tad too many walks, Fairbanks has been good this season, posting a 2.38 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and a 6:10 BB:K over 11 1/3 innings pitched. The 6-foot-6 hurler has saved 48 games for the Rays over the previous two seasons, but spent time on the injured list twice last year which has been a theme throughout his career, never having pitched more than 45 1/3 innings in the majors. If he can remain healthy this year, it looks like he'd be on track to potentially set career highs in IP and saves, although he doesn't strike out nearly as many as he used to, down to a career low of 7.94 K/9 thus far in 2025. --Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Athletics second baseman Luis Urias went 1-for-3 with a walk and a walk-off two-run home run in Sunday's 3-2 extra-innings win over the White Sox. It was the second consecutive game with a home run for the 27-year-old and the fourth straight game with a hit. Urias has taken over as the regular second baseman ever since Max Muncy was optioned on April 23 and has been making the most of his opportunities. For the season, the right-handed hitter is slashing .275/.348/.575 with four home runs and a 5:6 BB:K in 47 plate appearances. He'll get a chance to keep rolling on Monday as the A's take on the Rangers' Patrick Corbin, whom Urias is 5-for-13 off of lifetime, including one home run. Urias is usually a cheap DFS option and should be under consideration while he's hitting well.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Former Miami Dolphins free-agent defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah signed a one-year deal worth up to $5 million with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Ogbah, a former second-rounder (32nd overall) by the Cleveland Browns in 2016 out of Oklahoma State, will head to the AFC South after spending the last five seasons with the Dolphins. The 31-year-old veteran pass-rusher figures to be a rotational edge rusher for Jacksonville in 2025 behind Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker. Ogbah had 49 tackles (27 solo), five sacks, nine tackles for loss, 11 QB hits, one interception and a forced fumble in 16 starts for Miami last year. He has 47.5 sacks in his nine-year NFL career, but Ogbah has never reached double-digit sacks in a single season and hasn't had more than 5.5 sacks since 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN - Adam Schefter

New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr (shoulder), who has been staying in contact with team officials, said he has gotten an MRI exam and everyone is trying to figure out his next step. There have been rampant rumors that Carr is using his shoulder injury to try and force his way out of New Orleans. It remains to be seen if that's the case, but either way, the 34-year-old veteran signal-caller could need surgery on his shoulder, which would likely mean he wouldn't be ready for the start of the 2025 season this fall. Given the uncertainty around Carr, the Saints selected quarterback Tyler Shough in the second round of this year's NFL draft on Friday as an insurance policy. Depending on Carr's injury situation, Shough could be asked to make starts for the Saints sooner than later in 2025. Carr's fantasy value, meanwhile, continues to drop after another disappointing season in New Orleans in 2024.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: WDSU - Farrah Yvette

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers went 2-for-6 with a home run in his team's 13-3 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday. Devers added a single and two runs scored while striking out twice. The veteran has had a rough go to begin 2025, but broke out of a 0-for-15 slump over the weekend with a 5-for-13 performance in their series with the Guardians. He's still making excellent contact, and severely underperforming his .260 xBA (.216), so his hot-hitting from this weekend could be the spark that sends him on an upward trajectory for the remainder of the season. The 28-year-old currently holds the highest walk rate of his career (16.8%), and is impacting the ball harder than ever (95.1 MPH average exit velocity) and more often (60% hard-hit rate).--Alex CiullaSource: ESPN

Per the team, the Atlanta Braves have optioned outfielder Jarred Kelenic to the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers and signed outfielder Eddie Rosario to a major-league contract in a corresponding move. Kelenic, a former first-round pick, hasn't gotten it going at the big-league level, and he's started 2025 incredibly poorly. Despite a hit in four of his last six appearances, the 25-year-old is slashing a disastrous .167/.231/.300 over 60 at-bats (ten hits). Rosario signed a minor-league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers a few months back and went 1-for-4 in his only two appearances with LA roughly ten days ago. He projects to platoon for Atlanta in the outfield for now.--Alex CiullaSource: Atlanta Braves

The Boston Red Sox have promoted left-handed pitching prospect Brandon Clarke to High-A Greenville on Monday. Clarke will join fellow Low-A teammate, infielder Franklin Arias, at High-A. Clarke was selected in the fifth round of the 2024 MLB Draft out of State College of Florida Manatee - Sarasota. The 22-year-old made his professional debut at the start of the 2025 campaign with Low-A Salem. Across nine 2/3 innings of work, the southpaw held a stellar 0.92 ERA with a 0.41 WHIP. During this stint, Clarke struck out 17 batters and only served up two walks. Fantasy managers should expect the young southpaw to join the High-A starting rotation. He is a name to monitor in dynasty formats as he could find himself much higher on prospect boards if he continues this pace. He is currently considered the No. 30 prospect in the Boston system on MLB Pipeline.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerSource: Chris Cotillo

The Boston Red Sox are promoting left-handed pitcher Hayden Mullins to Double-A Portland. Mullins has spent the early part of the 2025 season and most of 2024 with High-A Greenville. In 17 innings of work this season, Mullins has posted a 1.06 ERA with a 0.82 WHIP. He has tallied 27 punchouts and served up three free passes. Mullins has made four appearances this season, with three of them coming out of the rotation. Last summer, the 24-year-old held a 3.94 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP across 89 innings of work at High-A. Across this stint, the southpaw flashed similar strikeout upside as he tallied 118, but showed modest command of his pitches as he served up 42 walks. Fantasy managers should expect the Auburn product to remain at Double-A throughout most of the 2025 season.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerSource: Chris Cotillo

Boston Red Sox second baseman Kristian Campbell went 2-for-2 with a double in Sunday's 13-3 victory over the Cleveland Guardians. The rookie was electric in the drubbing of the Guardians, adding a single, two RBI, four runs scored, and a steal. He's up to a .305 average now, with a .412 OBP and an .886 OPS through his first 27 major-league games. It's an excellent start to his career, as the 22-year-old's advanced eye at the plate has carried over into his first stint in the bigs. Campbell has reached base in eight of his past ten appearances, collecting four multi-hit performances over that span. Additionally, he's been impacting the ball better recently, notching three hard-hit balls over the weekend.--Alex CiullaSource: ESPN

The Boston Red Sox are promoting infield prospect Franklin Arias to High-A Greenville. Arias joined the Red Sox organization in 2023 and is already quickly climbing the prospect ranks. Through the early part of the campaign, Arias enjoyed a strong start with Low-A, holding a .346/.407/.397 slash line with four doubles and four stolen bases. Last season, Arias spent most of his time at the Rookie level before earning a brief taste of Low-A. Across both levels, he held a .309/.409/.487 slash line with 25 doubles, nine home runs, and 35 stolen bases. Fantasy managers should monitor the 19-year-old's progression at High-A as he is climbing prospect boards. He currently sits as the No. 4-ranked in the Boston system and the No. 73-overall in the sport on MLB Pipeline.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerSource: Chris Cotillo

Cleveland Guardians outfielder Nolan Jones went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in his team's 11-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox. He also drew a walk and struck out. It was Jones' first long ball of the season, and the three RBIs brought him up to five to match his run total. The former second-round pick has had a dreadful start to the year, batting .190 (12-for-63) with five doubles and two steals across 24 appearances. Despite the lack of statistical output, the 26-year-old holds a strong 14.9% walk rate and is hitting the ball incredibly hard. Jones' average exit velocity (96.3 MPH) and hard-hit rate (65%) are the best figures in the bigs. Furthermore, it appears he's having some bad BABIP luck (.244 xBA). With batted ball metrics like this, the home runs should begin to fall as he sees some positive regression.--Alex CiullaSource: ESPN

Chicago White Sox infield prospect Jordan Sprinkle is being promoted to High-A Winston-Salem. Sprinkle has enjoyed an impressive start to the season with Low-A and is being rewarded with an early-season promotion. Through the first 16 games of the Low-A season, Sprinkle held an impressive .420/.547/.460 slash line with two doubles, 20 stolen bases, and a 10:13 K:BB. The UC Santa Barbara product received a taste of High-A last summer but was unable to hold his own. During his first look at this level, the infielder posted a modest .207/.296/.279 slash line. However, he did show similar speed upside as he swiped 27 bags over this 92-game stint. Fantasy managers should monitor his progression during his next stint at High-A, as he could be in line to take the next step, given his strong start to the 2025 season.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerSource: Chase Ford

Chicago White Sox outfield prospect Braden Montgomery is being promoted to High-A Winston-Salem. The White Sox selected Montgomery with the 12th pick in last year's draft, and he is already progressing through the White Sox system fairly quickly. The Texas A&M product opened the 2025 season with Low-A Kannapolis and needed just 18 games to prove he was ready for the next level. Across this brief stint, Montgomery held a .304/.393/.493 slash line with four doubles and three home runs. The young outfielder tallied 19 RBI, swiped six bags, and held a 19:10 K:BB. The 22-year-old is currently considered the No. 5-ranked prospect in the system and the No. 52 overall in the sport, according to MLB Pipeline. Fantasy managers should expect Montgomery to contend for a Double-A promotion later this season if he continues this impressive pace with High-A.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerSource: Chase Ford

Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford went 2-for-3 with a home run in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Miami Marlins. He added two RBI, two runs scored, one walk, and one strikeout. The veteran connected on a two-run blast in the bottom of the fifth inning -- his second of the season -- off Miami reliever Ronny Henriquez that would put Seattle up 7-2 and prove the winning run as the Marlins mounted a late comeback. Crawford has been much better this season than he was in an abysmal 2024. He's not hitting for much power, and that includes extra-base hits (two doubles), but the average is there, and he's getting on base at a robust clip (.412 OBP). While his spot in the lineup is a detriment to his counting stats, he should still be a nice help, average-wise. Crawford is riding a seven-game hit streak with four multi-hit outings during the stretch.--Alex CiullaSource: ESPN

Baltimore Orioles pitching prospect Chayce McDermott (lat) struggled in his first rehab start with Double-A Chesapeake on Sunday. In this outing, the right-hander logged just 1 2/3 innings of work. He allowed one hit and one run but served up three free passes. He struck out three batters as well. McDermott has been sidelined with a lat strain he suffered early in spring training. Fantasy managers should expect the No. 4-ranked prospect in the system to continue to slowly increase his workload over the next few weeks. When he does officially return from the injured list, fantasy managers should expect the right-hander to open his 2025 campaign with Triple-A Norfolk. However, he could be in the mix for an early return to the majors. Last season during his first look in the big leagues, he logged four innings to the tune of a 6.75 ERA. For now, he should not be stashed in any redraft formats.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerSource: MiLB.com

New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe went 2-for-4 with two singles in his team's 5-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. The Yanks and Blue Jays were part of a doubleheader on Sunday, and the 24-year-old picked up two hits in each, though all of his damage came in the first game. Volpe was excellent in the early outing, jacking his fifth homer of 2025, while adding a double, two RBI, two runs scored, and a walk. He was also caught stealing in the second game. After the four knocks, he's still batting an underwhelming .228 on the season, though his batted ball metrics look better than they did in 2024. The New Jersey native is sporting a modest boost to his average exit velocity and has already recorded the hardest-hit ball of his career (110.5 MPH). He's also upped his walk rate from a year ago into the double-digits (11.1%).--Alex CiullaSource: ESPN
