Padres Closer Brad Hand Roughed Up for Second Loss of Year
Brad Hand, who was tagged with his second loss of the season Thursday afternoon. After leading off the inning with back-to-back walks, a fielding error loaded the bases and Hand proceeded to allow three runs off a bases-loaded walk and a two-run single. He was able to record two strikeouts, but Jordan Lyles came in from the bullpen to finish the inning. Hand has now allowed eight runs — two earned — over four innings with five hits and three walks. Fantasy owners should keep a close watch on the situation in San Diego, and it may be time to start thinking about picking up Craig Stammen or Kirby Yates as potential handcuffs for Hand.
