Packers "Hopeful" Micah Parsons Will Play in Week 1
Green Bay Packers All-Pro pass-rusher Micah Parsons (back) is not a lock to play in the Week 1 regular-season opener this Sunday versus the division-rival Detroit Lions. "We'll see. He's doing everything in his power. Got to get through a couple practices to see how he responds, but certainly hopeful," head coach Matt LaFleur said. The 26-year-old was recently traded to the Packers from the Cowboys, but he's also working through a joint sprain in his back that could require an epidural injection for him to suit up this weekend. Fantasy managers in IDP formats will need to keep a close eye on his status heading into Sunday's game and have a backup plan at the ready. And if Parsons is active against Detroit, it may not be the worst idea to sit him anyway, as he could be on a limited snap count in his first game with Green Bay. UPDATE: Parsons was officially limited in practice on Wednesday.
