Noelvi Marte Reinstated For Season Debut
6 months agoThe Cincinnati Reds reinstated infield prospect Noelvi Marte from the suspended list on Thursday and optioned infielder Livan Soto from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. The Reds also transferred right-hander Emilio Pagan (lat) to the 60-day injured list. Marte will make his 2024 debut on Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals and right-hander Miles Mikolas, as he's starting at third base and batting sixth. The 22-year-old has returned to the Reds after being suspended 80 games due to a performance-enhancing drug suspension. Marte didn't look good at all at the plate in 53 plate appearances during his minor-league rehab assignment, but he should be scooped up off the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues where he's available and should play regularly the rest of the season with Christian Encarnacion-Strand (hand) likely out for the season.
