Defenseman Noah Hanifin has joined the Vegas Golden Knights, who acquired the 27-year-old from the Calgary Flames. In exchange, the Flames received a conditional 2025 first-round pick, a conditional 2025 third-round pick, and defenseman Daniil Miromanov while retaining 50 percent of Hanifin's salary. The deal also involved the Philadelphia Flyers, who received a 2024 fifth-round pick from Vegas for retaining 50 percent of Hanifin's remaining salary. Hanifin was the fifth pick in the 2015 NHL draft by Carolina and is playing in his ninth NHL season. He joined Calgary in 2018 via a trade. 2023-24 has been one of his best seasons in the league, as Hanifin has scored a career-high 11 goals and is flirting with a 50-point campaign, with 35 points earned through 61 outings. He's expected to replace Alec Martinez (undisclosed) in the top four in Vegas after the veteran was placed on Injured Reserve Wednesday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
