Niko Goodrum Scratched With Left Calf Tightness
3 years agoDetroit Tigers infielder Niko Goodrum (calf) was scratched from the lineup of Game 1 of the doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday with left calf tightness. Zack Short took Goodrum's place at shortstop against Twins left-hander Charlie Barnes. Don't be surprised if Goodrum also sits out the nightcap of the doubleheader. Aside from his speed (12 stolen bases in 16 attempts), Goodrum hasn't given fantasy managers much in deep mixed leagues with a .220/.296/.341 slash line, six home runs, 28 runs scored and 18 RBI in 230 plate appearances. His calf injury is certainly worth watching, especially if it keeps him from running as much.
