Toronto Blue Jays reliever Nick Sandlin (elbow) was placed on the injured list on July 8 after experiencing right elbow inflammation. He had just returned from a lat injury that cost him two months from April to June. The good news here is that he is feeling better and was able to play catch on Friday. He hopes to build on this progress in the coming weeks, progressing to bullpen sessions, live sessions, and a rehab assignment. The 28-year-old still has a long way to go before returning to the Blue Jays' bullpen, but this was a good start.--Dave Funnell - RotoBaller
