Kansas City Royals No. 2 prospect first baseman Nick Pratto smashed his seventh homer of the season on Thursday for Single-A Lexington. Pratto is one of a handful of attractive young prospects currently playing in Lexington. Originally compared to the likes of Joey Votto for his patience and hitting ability, Pratto has been converting to more of a power-first approach this season. While Pratto has hit seven home runs so far, he’s also struck out 29% of the time while only walking in 5.7% of his at-bats. However, lauded for his strong defense at first and having stolen 16 bases already in his professional career, Pratto may be able to bring a power/speed combo to the table as he continues to develop.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
