1 year agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris remains the team's unquestioned No. 1 back heading into the 2023 regular season. "Najee is our '1.' I don't think there's any doubt about that," offensive coordinator Matt Canada said when asked if the timeshare at RB will change this year. Harris' relative light training camp/preseason workload has been about preserving him for the entire 2023 season. The 25-year-old is going to lose some offensive snaps to pass-catching back Jaylen Warren, but Harris remains Pittsburgh's primary ball-carrier. Harris has two straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons to begin his NFL career with 20 total touchdowns (14 rushing, six receiving).
