Mookie Betts to Return on Tuesday Night
Mookie Betts (toe) is on track to return for Game 2 of the series against the visiting New York Mets on Tuesday, according to manager Dave Roberts. Before Monday's series-opening loss to New York, Betts fielding ground balls, ran the bases and took batting practice. Barring a setback, he'll be back in the starting lineup on Tuesday against right-hander Tylor Megill. The 32-year-old suffered a fracture on the tip of a toe on his left toe last week while accidentally kicking furniture at his house, and it's kept him out since last Wednesday. Betts can't do additional damage by playing on it, though, and he's expected to avoid the injured list. Fantasy managers will want to get him back into their starting lineups in all leagues on Tuesday. He's faced Megill three times in his career and has one hit against him.
