According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, former Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has decided to focus on next year's hiring cycle and will not coach in the NFL in 2025, per sources. McCarthy became available for head-coach openings around the league late this cycle after the Dallas Cowboys decided not to bring him back after a disappointing 2024 campaign in which the team did not make the postseason. However, he's made the playoffs 12 times in 18 seasons and is expected to be a strong head-coaching candidate at this time a year from now. After his contract expired with Dallas on Jan. 14, McCarthy interviewed for head-coach positions with the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears. The Bears hired Ben Johnson, but it's possible that the Saints have already told McCarthy that they plan on hiring someone else, most likely Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
