Michael Wacha Walks Three In Rehab Start
1 year agoSan Diego Padres right-hander Michael Wacha (shoulder) tossed two innings for Triple-A El Paso in a minor-league rehab start on Saturday night and didn't allow a run while giving up two hits, walking three and striking out two. It was Wacha's first outing in any game since facing the Cincinnati Reds on July 1. The 32-year-old will look to display better control in his next rehab start, which could be his last before rejoining the Padres starting rotation for the stretch run. The Friars could definitely use Wacha back with righty Joe Musgrove (shoulder) likely out until September. Wacha was carrying San Diego's rotation earlier this season and has gone 8-2 with a fantastic 2.84 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 73 strikeouts in 85 2/3 innings over 15 starts.
