Max Fried To Start Game 2 Of NLDS
1 year agoAtlanta Braves left-hander Max Fried (finger) has been tabbed to start Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies on Monday. It was an injury-filled season for Fried, and he finished off the regular season on the injured list due to a blister on his left index finger. The 29-year-old southpaw is now ready to go, though, and he's been excellent this season when he has been healthy, going 8-1 with a 2.55 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 80 strikeouts in 77 2/3 innings over 14 starts. In his second-to-last start of the regular season, Fried allowed an earned run while walking two and striking out six in five innings in a no-decision on Sept. 12 in his only start against the Phillies this year.
